Tennessee State Representative Curtis Johnson announces THDA Grant to Provide Housing for Homeless Veterans

 

State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Tennessee State Representative Curtis Johnson announced that the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) had recently awarded a $235,705 Housing Trust Fund (HTF) grant to Buffalo Valley.

The grant will be used to finance the rehabilitation of six homes that will provide transitional housing for 48 homeless Veterans. Two of the homes are located in Clarksville and will serve up to 14 individuals.

City of Clarksville Council meeting expects No Quorum tonight

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Due to the inclement weather conditions, the City of Clarksville has received inquiries about the City Council Meeting scheduled for 7:00pm on Thursday, March 5th, 2015.

Under the provisions of the City’s Charter and the City Code, all regularly scheduled Council meetings shall occur on the first Thursday of the month unless a specific ordinance is passed (which requires two separate readings) changing the meeting date or time; therefore, tonight’s meeting cannot be cancelled or rescheduled.

Clarksville’s Burt-Cobb Community Center to remain open as Emergency Shelter through Saturday night

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The emergency shelter at the Burt-Cobb Community Center will remain open through Saturday night.

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is announcing the City of Clarksville’s plans to assist the homeless during the expected frigid temperatures.

Over the next two days, the temperature is predicted to fall well below freezing. The Mayor and the City’s Office of Housing and Community Development have been monitoring the availability of options for homeless people in Clarksville to get out of the elements, especially during the nighttime hours.
