Dodging the Roadkill: An Open Letter From Your Motorcycle

Dodging the Roadkill - A Biker's JourneyClarksville, TN – Dear Biker,

So, here we are.  You and me.

I’ve been waiting for you as you visited me and the other models.  You were very careful in your selection as I watched you checking us all out. Going from one to another, gazing at our assets and marveling at our colors.

I knew when you climbed on my back for the first time that we would be a good fit, but you were unsure.  You grabbed my throttles, you stood me up, you even took me for a spin to see how I could run.  I loved it when you “revved” me up at the stop light.

Dodging the Roadkill: It’s The Little Things

Dodging the Roadkill - A Biker's JourneyClarksville, TN – I’m a relatively new biker.  I’m still learning.  Things that come naturally to veteran bikers are still working their way into my routine.  I’m thankful that none of these “forgetful” moments have caused me any problems, because they can.

Mirrors:

In the beginning, I didn’t seem to pay attention to the rear view mirrors like I should.  I would glance over my shoulder and drift into the passing lane.  I would just be in a “zone”during the ride and not notice someone in my blind spot.

Dodging the Roadkill: The Pig

Dodging the Roadkill - A Biker's JourneyCadiz, KY – I’ve spent several days this week, riding the Harley around the beautiful Lake Barkley area in Cadiz, Kentucky.  If you’ve never had the opportunity to ride through here,  I would highly recommend you make it a point to do so.

You’ll find the Natchez Trace Parkway that runs through the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation area and beautiful Kentucky back roads to travel.

The fantastic Barkley Lodge and Kenlake State Resort are must see destinations!

As I was riding in and around downtown Cadiz, I kept noticing these pigs.
