Clarksville High School Wrestling wins Brentwood Academy Duals

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School got a great present before Christmas by winning the Brentwood Academy Duals Saturday at Brentwood Academy. It’s the Wildcats second tournament win this year after they won their own Slamfest on December 10th in Clarksville.

Clarksville High School wrestling team beats Northeast High School and Beech High School in tri-dual match

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School and Northeast High School both participated against Beech in a tri-dual meet wrestling match Tuesday at Beech High School and Clarksville High won both matches. The Wildcats beat Northeast 71-5 with six pin falls, one technical fall and four forfeits.

Clarksville High’s quickest pin was De’Quan Wiggins 45-second pin of Colt Syfrett at 106 pounds. Zach Crane also had a 50-second pin of  RaMarcus Norris at 170 pounds. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville High wins Slamfest

 

Clarksville High wins Slamfest for first time since 2001. Wildcats win own tournament over Ravenwood in championship match.

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Clarksville High won its own Slamfest dual wrestling tournament Friday with a 39-25 victory over Ravenwood in the championship final.

The Wildcats won the team tournament for the first time since 2001. Clarksville High beat Notre Dame 41-32 in its semifinal match.

Rossview took 11th and Northwest 12th. Montgomery Central did not make it out of pool play.

Clarksville High Wrestling Results against Rossview, Franklin

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Here’s the results from the Clarksville High Wrestling tri-meet with Rossview and Franklin on Thursday.

The Wildcats beat Rossview in one dual meet 43-24, but lost to Franklin 37-32.

Clarksville High hosts Slamfest at 9:00am Saturday at Clarksville High school.

Local programs Montgomery Central, Northwest and Rossview will be participating along with District 10-AAA rival Dickson County. Also in the event are Arlington, Beech, Brentwood, Collierville, Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, Notre Dame, Overton, Ravenwood and Red Bank.

Clarksville High wrestler Isbell looking to win state at 145 pounds after finishing second at 140 pounds last year

 

Clarksville High senior wrestler Chad Isbell was the runner-up in the 140-pound class last year. He hopes to win it all at 145 pounds this year. Isbell spoke with James D. Horne of the Clarksville Sports Network.

“I’m proud to be on such a tough team, were always doing well in Regionals, we’ve been region champ the past 16 seasons,” Isbell said. “I’m proud to be on a team like this and I’m proud I’ve helped it continue since my freshman year. I love the program. (Clarksville High) coach (Jeff) Jordan focuses on strength and wrestling and that’s everything we need. Most teams don’t focus on strength and we always come out and are one of the strongest teams. I’m proud to be a part of such a successful program.”
