APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Shortstop Garrett Kueber hit a home run as part of a three-hit, three-RBI day and led the Austin Peay State University (APSU) baseball team to a 6-1 Ohio Valley Conference series-opening victory against SIU Edwardsville, Friday night, on Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park.

APSU BaseballEdwardsville, IL – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team fell behind early and could not catch up, dropping the final game of its Ohio Valley Conference series against SIU Edwardsville, 12-7, Sunday afternoon at Simmons Baseball Complex.

Austin Peay (28-20, 17-10 OVC) scored the game’s first run as shortstop Garrett Kueber hit his third home run of the season for an early 1-0 lead.

Clarksville Police Department holds Retirement and Promotion Ceremony

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Today November 13th, 2015, the Clarksville Police Department hosted a retirement and promotion ceremony.

After Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan’s opening comments, Chief Al Ansley presented Lieutenant Dale Ward with a Certificate of Retirement, Sergeant Daniel Lane with a Promotion Certificate to the rank of Lieutenant, Sergeant Vincent Lewis with a Promotion Certificate to the rank of Lieutenant, and Detective Nicholas Newman with a Promotion Certificate to the rank of Sergeant.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUJackson, TN – Sophomore Alex Robles, of the Austin Peay State University baseball team, was twice named first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference in a vote of the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.

The honors were presented at the annual OVC baseball awards banquet, Tuesday night, before the start of the 2015 OVC Baseball Championship at The Ball Park at Jackson.

Nashville Sounds allow four runs in the ninth to lose 8-5 to Tucson Padres

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds had their season-best six game win streak snapped Sunday night at Greer Stadium, losing the lead in the last inning to the Tucson Padres in the 8-5 defeat.

Trailing 5-4 in the ninth inning with the bases loaded, first baseman Cody Decker drove a triple to right field to flip the script on the Sounds for a 6-5 advantage. The Padres added one more run on Chris Robinson’s squeeze bunt single to third base.

Clarksville Police reports Tractor Trailer hits Utility Pole causing Transformer to fall through the roof of it’s Trailer

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On August 28th, 2012, around 11:30am, a tractor trailer driven by Oran King, 57, of Mt Juliet was traveling east on College Street, swerved to avoid hitting a car, left the roadway, and struck a utility pole.

When the utility pole was hit, a transformer was dislodged, and fell through the roof of the trailer.  Traffic on College Street was disrupted for approximately two and a half hours.

No citations were issued. The lead investigator is Officer Chris Robinson.

Clarksville Police Department Increased Traffic Enforcement Statistics from July 19th

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On July 19th, 2012, the Clarksville Police Department stepped up traffic enforcement on Fort Campbell Boulevard from North Second Street to Stateline Road due to the increase in crashes occurring on the roadway. Police made 122 vehicle stops.

Since January 1st, 2012 there have been 322 crashes on Fort Campbell Boulevard, 106 of those were injury crashes, 160 were rear-end collision, and 100 were angle crashes.

Sounds Lose Extra-Inning Affair To Cubs In Series Finale, 5-4

 

Nashville SoundsDes Moines, IA – Cubs outfielder Brad Snyder hit a game-winning, bases-loaded single off the left field wall with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the division-rival Iowa Cubs a 5-4 win over the Nashville Sounds in the finale of a four-game series on Thursday night at Principal Park.

Pinch hitter Chris Robinson opened the 11th frame with a single off Mike McClendon and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and infield groundout. McClendon walked the next two hitters before allowing the game-winning hit to Snyder.

The defeat gave the Sounds (70-70) a series split and 11-5 season series win over the Cubs.
