Clarksville Police Department holds Retirement and Promotion Ceremony
After Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan’s opening comments, Chief Al Ansley presented Lieutenant Dale Ward with a Certificate of Retirement, Sergeant Daniel Lane with a Promotion Certificate to the rank of Lieutenant, Sergeant Vincent Lewis with a Promotion Certificate to the rank of Lieutenant, and Detective Nicholas Newman with a Promotion Certificate to the rank of Sergeant. ![]() Sgt Nicholas Newman, Lt Vincent Lewis, Lt Dale Ward, Lt Daniel Lane, Mayor Kim McMillan, and Chief Al Ansley. (CPD) RetirementLieutenant Dale Ward Lt Dale Ward served faithfully and honorably for 29 years at the Clarksville Police Department. He has been a Lieutenant for 13 of his 29 years. Along with his natural ability to lead, his experience from Patrol Officer to a Detective to a Sergeant and then to a Lieutenant made him a valuable asset to his Supervisors, the Officers he led, the CPD and the City of Clarksville. The impact Lt Ward made on the CPD and the Clarksville Community was evident today at the ceremony held at the CPD’s Training Facility. Several individuals, including CPD Officers and Judge Charles Smith, spoke about their time working with Lt Ward. His experience and professionalism will be missed. In attendance with Lt Ward were his wife Donna Ward, his two daughters Cathy Ward and Deana Robinson (CPD Dispatcher), and Deana’s husband, Chris Robinson (CPD Police Officer). In attendance with Sgt Newman were his girlfriend Katrina Carte and his two sons, Cross and Christian Newman. The Clarksville Police Department would also like to thank Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Judge Charles Smith, those representing the City Council – past and present, the members of the Clarksville Police Academy Alumni (CPAA), retired CPD representatives, family, and friends for attending this ceremony. And special thanks to the CPD staff who organized the ceremony.
