US Bank Donates $3,000 to Support LEAP’s Partners in Employment (PIE) Initiative

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – The U.S. Bank Foundation, has awarded a $3,000 grant to LEAP’s Youth Career Readiness Program as a Partner In Employment. The grant is a part of U.S. Banks’s Community Possible Program, which supports organizations and programs that advance the funding priorities in areas where designated U.S. Bank communities are served.

Decisions are based on organizations financial stability, leadership, impact measurement, and collaboration with key community stakeholders in the community. LEAP Organization fits the bill! Damon Jennings, LEAP ORG Board member, describes U.S. Bank’s support as simply tremendous to help youth enhance their employability skills.

LEAP Youth Featured in One-of-a-Kind Mock Interview for Career Success

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – Convergys Corporation, a customer care, sales and technical support organization participated in Leap Youth Organizations Career Readiness Mock Interview Night, on Monday, October 24th, as a part of the comprehensive, hands-on group learning experience touted to build youth and young adults’ ability to prepare for work in Clarksville, Montgomery County Convergys representatives, Sharon Kirby, Shanta Curry, and Daniella Stufflebean interviewed eight youth providing accolades for those who were able to make great first impressions.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park series concludes Saturday with Jurassic World

 

Movies in the Park - Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park, the City’s free, outdoor movie series concludes Saturday, October 8th at Liberty Park, 1190 Cumberland Drive with the showing of Jurassic World.

Pre-show activities will begin at 5:00pm and include Gamez on Wheelz game truck and Jurassic Park jeep displays from the actual movie, Jurassic Park!

Admission is completely free.

Movies in the Park - Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Convergys are excited to announce Inside Out is coming to the big screen Saturday, September 24th as part of the 2016 Movies in the Park series.

Movies in the Park will take place at the Liberty Park Amphitheater, located at 1188 Cumberland Drive. Pre-show activities will include a free concert with local singer/songwriter, Sarah Jayne at 4:00pm and Christian music artist, Alphonse Prather at 5:00pm.

Goodwill Career Solutions to hold Multi-Employer Job Fair at Clarksville-Montgomery Public Library September 7th

 

Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, Inc.Clarksville, TN – On Wednesday, September 7th, there will be a multi-employer job fair held at the Clarksville-Montgomery Public Library from 10:00am until 2:00pm.

The Library is partnering with Goodwill Career Solutions for a multi-employer job fair. There will be over 20 employers with 700+ openings. Bring your resume, photo ID and Social Security Card or birth certificate. Please dress for success and be ready to interview.

Movies in the Park - Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Convergys are excited to announce Pitch Perfect 2 is coming to the big screen Saturday, July 23rd as part of the 2016 Movies in the Park series.

Pre-show activities will begin at 4:00pm at the Liberty Park Amphitheater, located at 1188 Cumberland Drive. Activities include an acoustic set performed by local singer Lucian Greene, followed by a performance by singer/songwriter Nick Riggins and his band the Hard Dogs at 5:30pm.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park features Guardians of the Galaxy Saturday, June 18th

 

Movies in the Park - Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – On Saturday, June 18th, Clarksville’s Movies in the Park, the city’s free, outdoor movie series will be showing the movie Guardians of the Galaxy (rated PG-13)!

This showing is at a new location – McGregor Park! The showings at McGregor Park, located at 640 North Riverside Drive, will take place at the North Extension (behind O’Charleys). The season will continue with the last five showings at Liberty Park, located at 1188 Cumberland Drive.

Convergys Partners with LEAP to Help Youth Obtain Marketable Job Skills

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – Convergys Community Action Network (CAN) volunteers in Clarksville, Tennessee partnered with the LEAP Organization to support their Career Readiness Program.

LEAP, which stands for Leadership, Enlightenment, Achievement, and Perseverance, is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to instill positive moral growth and sustainable life skills in youth.

The goal of LEAP’s Career Readiness Program is to provide youth ages 16 to 24 with critical job skills to prepare them for entry into the workforce.
