Nashville, TN – Joshua Dobbs racked up 409 yards of total offense and four touchdowns, Derek Barnett set a new Tennessee sack record and the No. 21 Tennessee Volunteers took a 38-24 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the 2016 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on Friday at Nissan Stadium.
Tennessee (9-4) led from start to finish and posted 521 yards of offense thanks to Dobbs’ outstanding career finale. Dobbs, who was named MVP of the game, ran for 118 yards and three scores on 11 carries and finished 23-of-38, throwing for 291 yards and one touchdown.

Knoxville, TN – The University of Tennessee football team has accepted an invitation to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on December 30th at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The game will feature a 2:30pm CT kickoff on ESPN.
“Our entire program is excited about representing the University of Tennessee at the Music City Bowl,” said head coach Butch Jones. “This will be a great opportunity for our players to play in a NFL stadium against a very challenging opponent in Nebraska. We have a special group of seniors that have given their all for this program and I know they are excited about a final opportunity to play together.”
Nashville, TN – Representatives from the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl have announced that the University of Tennessee Volunteers will represent the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in the 19th annual Bowl as they take on the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers of the Big Ten Conference.
Kickoff will be Friday, December 30th at 2:30pm CST at Nissan Stadium in Nashville Tennessee. The game will be televised live on ESPN.

Brooklyn, NY – Tennessee lost to Nebraska, 82-71, in the consolation game of the Barclays Center Classic on Saturday afternoon, as the Vols (4-3) played their second game in less than 13 hours.
Nebraska (5-2) was led by Tai Webster, who netted 18 points. He was joined in double-figures by Andrew White (15), Shavon Shields (11), Jake Hammond (11) and Glynn Watson Jr. (10). Hammond grabbed 10 rebounds as the Huskers out-rebounded the Vols, 46-30.

Brooklyn, NY – Down by as many as 15 points in the second half, the Vols had two chances to tie the game in the final 10 seconds, but were unable to connect in a tough 73-70 loss to George Washington at the Barclays Center Classic. Kevin Punter had a game-high 24 points while Devon Baulkman added 16 and Robert Hubbs III had 13 points.
The Colonials (6-0) advanced to the championship game, while the Vols (4-2) will turnaround and play in less than 13 hours against Nebraska at 12 Noon on Saturday.
Down 49-34 less than five minutes into the second half, Tennessee cut their deficit one point on a Baulkman 3-pointer with 1:55 left in regulation at 69-68.
