Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department reminds everyone that a new school year is about to begin, so it is time to put our thinking caps back on and pay attention to school zones, added pedestrian traffic, and those big yellow buses transporting the children.

Law enforcement will be out in full force to ensure motorists are following the rules of the road in school zones and along the bus route paths.

The traffic unit’s hard work and efforts were recognized at the Tennessee Lifesavers Conference.

Clarksville Police Department releases School Bus and School Zone Safety Tips

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department has been receiving numerous complaints about school bus and school zone violations.  We wanted to take this opportunity to remind the public about the rules of the road in school zones and actions to take when schools buses are in operation.

CPD’s Traffic Unit Supervisor Sgt Johnny Ransdell— “Safety in school zones and adhering to traffic laws when school buses are operating is an absolutely necessity.  We will be issuing citations for people violating school bus laws and speeding in school zones”.

Clarksville Police Officer Cody Bergen comes in 2nd at Motorcycle Skills and Traffic Course

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Congratulations to Clarksville Police Officer Cody Bergen, Traffic Unit, for placing 2nd in the Novice Division at Spring Hill’s Police Motorcycle Skills and Traffic Course.

He was put through his paces. Even though he has been riding a motorcycle for years, he picked up a whole new skill set at the training course.

Clarksville Police Officer observes Riverside Drive Accident

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday morning, February 9th, at 10:50am, a crash that left traffic snarled on Riverside Drive at the North Second Street intersection will not be difficult to investigate because the nearest eyewitness was a Clarksville Police Department Traffic Unit officer.

“I was sitting right here at the red light and saw it happen,” stated Officer Derrick Cronk.

Clarksville Police to close Dunbar Cave Road at Warfield Boulevard for accident reconstruction

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department Traffic Unit will be shutting down all access to Dunbar Cave Road from Warfield Boulevard (State Route 374) from 9:30am until Noon.

Motorists will be able to travel Warfield Boulevard, but they will not be able to turn onto Dunbar Cave Road from either direction while yesterday’s tanker truck collision is investigated and reconstructed.

Clarksville Police will be closing traffic lanes to reconstruct the crash on Dunbar Cave and Warfield Boulevard Tuesday from 10:00am until Noon.

Clarksville Police release update on tanker truck crash at Dunbar Cave and Warfield Boulevard

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police reported today that a crash between a sedan and a tanker truck blocked traffic and left a woman trapped inside the sedan, shortly before 2:00pm, Monday, January 23rd at Dunbar Cave Road and Warfield Boulevard.

Clarksville Fire Rescue and Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services personnel collaborated in safely extracting the female occupant of the sedan, who was trapped with when the tanker trailer came to rest on top of her vehicle.

Clarksville Police report vehicle crash on Dunbar Cave Road

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department Traffic Division is working a single-vehicle crash on Dunbar Cave Road in front of the Swan Lake Golf Course.

The driver is being Life-Flighted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The passenger is enroute by ambulance to Tennova Medical Center.

Dunbar Cave Road is blocked from Wingate Drive to Highway 374. The road may remain blocked for an hour or longer. Drivers are urged to find alternate routes.
