Sango Elementary School’s Mark Banasiak was chosen as the 2019 SHAPE America Southern District Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year. Montgomery Central High School’s Shannon Morrison as the 2019 SHAPE America Southern District Secondary Physical Education Teacher of the Year.

Rossview Hawks Soccer falls to Mt. Juliet in Region 5-AAA Finals, 3-1

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – For the first time in school history, the Rossview Hawks boys soccer team hosted the Region 5-AAA Finals against the 2013 Region Champion Mount Juliet Golden Bears Thursday, May 15th.

The home field did not help the Hawks withstand the Golden Bears offensive attack. The Golden Bears captured their second Region Championship in a row, defeating the Hawks 3-1.

The Golden Bears frontline pressed the Hawks most of the game. Their speed kept the Hawks on the defensive. Rossview was beat to the ball and lost most of the one-on-one battles.

Rossview High soccer wins overtime thriller 2-1 to advance to Region 5-AAA finals

 

Clarksville, TN – Rossview High School’s soccer team got a goal from Marco Rodriquez in the 14th minute of overtime, May 13th, to cap a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Station Camp High School, in the opening round of the Region 5-AAA tournament.

With the victory, Rossview (14-3-4) has earned the school’s first berth into the TSSAA Sectional tournament since the 2005 season, while also earning the right to host Mt. Juliet High School at 7:00p.m. on May 15th in the Region 5-AAA finals — the first time the Hawks have hosted the region finals in school history.

Rossview Hawks soccer earns historical win with victory over West Creek Coyotes in 10-AAA Finals

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Rossview High School’s boys soccer team has been one of the upper-level teams in District 10-AAA since the school opened, but never winning back-to-back district titles.

That is until now, as the Hawks (13-3-4) made it make-to-back tournament titles with a 2-0, May 8th, victory over West Creek High School.

“I couldn’t be prouder of this group of boys,” Rossview coach Danny Chartrand said. “I’ve been telling anyone that would lesson that we’re 16 or 17 (players) deep and they’re genuinely not selfish and understand what the team is and they’re willing to play the minutes, do what we ask them to do, no matter where it is on the field. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville, TN — Rossview High School boys soccer team controlled play for most of the night May 14th — in the opening round of the Region 5-AAA tournament — versus Hendersonville, but couldn’t find the back of the net in a season-ending 2-0 loss.

The City of Clarksville kicked off the 2012 Christmas on the Cumberland

 

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville kicked off the 14th Annual Christmas on the Cumberland last night, which continues until January 1st. The annual free holiday display features over 1,000,000 individual Lights in a amazing Christmas display that spans the entire length of McGregor Park in Downtown Clarksville.

This has become one of the most popular events held on the banks of the Cumberland River in Historic Downtown Clarksville, second only to the Riverfest Celebration held in September. It draws thousands of people per day down to the banks of the Cumberland River to enjoy the Christmas lights with family and friends.

Charity Soccer Match to Benefit Camp Rainbow

 

Clarksville High School Rossview High School

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday September 24th, 2011 there will be a charity soccer match between the Clarksville High Lady Wildcats and the Rossivew Lady Hawks to help raise money for Camp Rainbow. The game will kick off at 7:00pm at Clarksville High School. Admission is only $5.00 with all the proceeds from the gate being donated to Camp Rainbow.

Jeff Major, who is the soccer coach for Clarksville High School, has put this event together along with Bikers who Care and Camp Rainbow. Melinda Kelly-Rich, from Reliant Reality, helped Coach Major organize the event. «Read the rest of this article»
