Clarksville, TN – The District 10-AAA girls basketball tournament continued Saturday at Kenwood High School. Four teams competed with the winners advancing to the Championship game and the losers going to the consolation game.
The Rossview Lady Hawks and the Henry County Lady Patriots secured wins and will face each other in the tournament championship game.
Clarksville, TN – It was Senior’s Night at Clarksville High School Friday, February 6th, and the Clarksville Wildcats basketball team gave its seniors a lot to cheer about at their last home game of the regular season. The Wildcats pounced on the Henry County Patriots and thoroughly brought them down with a 62-35 victory.
The Patriots struggled to execute their offense and make baskets all night. While a lot of the Patriots struggles were due to the Wildcats active defense, a lot of their open shots rolled off the rim as well. It was one of those nights where almost everything went wrong for one team and nearly everything went right for the other.
Clarksville, TN – Haley Bearden made a definite statement on her last night at home for the regular season. On Senior Night at Clarksville High, Bearden led her team with a double-double, past the tenacious Henry County Lady Patriots, 46-40.
Bearden finished the game with 16 points, 16 rebounds and two blocks. Although she led the team with her 16 points, it was her clutch rebounding in the last minutes of the game that kept her team ahead of the Lady Patriots.
Bearden’s last two points came from the free throw line, giving the Lady Wildcats a 43-38 lead with just over three minutes left in the game. With just under two minutes, Henry County’s Ashley Martin scored in the paint to make the score 43-40.
Four Clarksville High Lady Wildcats reach double figures in rolling past Springfield Yellow Jackets 60-38
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s girls basketball team used a balanced scoring attack Tuesday, February 3rd at William Workman Gymnasium, placing four players into double figures on its way to defeating Springfield High School 60-38 in a District 10-AAA matchup.
The Lady Wildcats (17-9, 11-2 District 10-AAA) took control of the game quickly, picking up a couple early 3s from Ellie Treanton and Hannah Goins to get out to a 8-2 lead 2:08 into the game.
Goins would finish with 12 points, while Treanton chipped in with 10 points for CHS.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s girls basketball team had most of its inside attack either out — or playing at less than 100 percent — Wednesday, January 27th at the Willard Ross Memorial Gymnasium versus Northwest High School, but JK Cummings stepped up with five big 3s to lead the Lady Wildcats past the Lady Vikings, 60-36.
The Lady Wildcats (15-9, 9-2 District 10-AAA) were without the services of forwards Haley Bearden and Ta’Tayana Outlaw – accounting for about 25 points and 16 rebounds – while Chrislen Brown, who scored a season-high 11 points versus Kenwood High School on January 23rd had spent most of the previous night at the hospital dealing with the lingering effects of a cold she has been battling.
Clarksville High Lady Wildcats overcome foul trouble to defeat Cheatham County to open Rebel Christmas Tournament
Dover, TN – With two of its leading scorers and rebounds in foul trouble most of the afternoon, Saturday, December 27th at the Bill Craig Memorial Gymnasium, Clarksville High School’s girls basketball team got a lift from its perimeter players, as the Lady Wildcats defeated Cheatham County Central High School, 59-52 to open the Stewart County Rebel Christmas Tournament.
With Haley Bearden and Ta’Tayana Outlaw in foul trouble for Clarksville High (7-8) guards Ellie Treanton, JK Cummings and Hannah Goins picked up the scoring slack for the Lady Wildcats, as the trio combined for 40 of the team’s 59 points and all six of its shots from behind the three-point arc.
Clarksville High Lady Wildcats’ offense overwhelms Northwest Lady Vikings in District 10-AAA showdown
Clarksville, TN – A 12-2 run, starting near the end of the first quarter, began a dominating performance by the Clarksville High School girls basketball team, Friday, December 12th at the William Workman Gymnasium, as they overwhelmed the Northwest High School Lady Vikings in a 65-31 District 10-AAA victory.
The Lady Wildcats (5-8, 3-1 District 10-AAA) only held a one-point advantage, 9-8, as they neared the final minute of the opening quarter; but a bucket by Ellie Treanton – with 1:10 left in the period – started a run that pushed the Clarksville High lead out to 21-10, with 6:18 left in the first half.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville High School girls basketball team cut an 18-point first-half deficit to Gallatin High School down to just two points in the fourth quarter, Tuesday November 25th at William Workman Gymnasium, but couldn’t clear that final hurdle in a 60-50 loss.
The Lady Wildcats (0-6) were buried under a barge of 3s by the Lady Green Wave in the first 5:30 minutes of the game, with Gallatin (4-2) hitting five shots from beyond the arc to build a 23-5 advantage.
