Tennessee National Guard to support 58th Presidential Inauguration

 

Tennessee National GuardNashville, TN – More than three hundred and thirty Soldiers and Airmen from the Tennessee Army and Air National Guard will support the 58th Presidential Inauguration this week in Washington, D.C.
 
The 194th Engineer Brigade (Army), headquartered in Jackson, has 304 Soldiers providing command and control for Military Police Soldiers performing stationary security at different locations.  A logistics team of supply and maintenance personnel are providing support for the MPs and a Religious Support Team.

101st Airborne Division’s oldest Battalion prepares for Joint Readiness Training

Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers and leaders with 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), are packing their rucks, brushing up on battle drills and kissing their families goodbye before heading off to the swamps of Fort Polk, Louisiana, for a decisive action training environment rotation at the Joint Readiness Training Center.

A decisive action training environment, better known as a DATE rotation, gives Soldiers a taste of a hybrid threat similar to the complexities of potential adversaries the nation could face in the 21st century.

Lieutenant Colonel Vincent Franklin to assume Command Tennessee Air Guard’s 119th Command and Control Squadron

 

Tennessee National Air GuardNashville, TN – Brig. Gen. Donald Johnson, Tennessee Assistant Adjutant General-Air, today announced that Lt. Col. Vincent Franklin, of Seymour, TN, will assume command of the 119th Command and Control Squadron on March 8th.

Also in the announcement, Brig. Gen. Johnson named Lt. Col. Samuel Keener, of Knoxville, as the Senior Technician of the 119th CACS in charge of the day to day operations of the unit.

Clarksville honors military veterans

 

US Army Special Operations CommandClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its 18th annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Saturday and honored attending military veterans who fought in wars ranging from World War Two through the present day war in the Middle East.

Citizens and leaders of Clarksville-Montgomery County were in attendance and showed great appreciation of each and every veteran through a standing ovation. Fort Campbell, KY.  The Home of the Screaming EaglesThe monthly remembrance ceremony honoring soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at McAuliffe Hall.
