Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsMemphis, TN – For the first time since 2013, Tennessee Vols Basketball and the Memphis Tigers will face off on the hardwood Saturday, December 15th as part of a three-game series between the in-state foes.

The game will tip at 1:00pm CT at the FedExForum in Memphis. ESPN2 will carry the broadcast, which can also be streamed online through WatchESPN. Fans can also listen live on their local Vol Network affiliate to hear Bob Kesling and Bert Bertelkamp describing the action.

APSU Governors face Memphis

 

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – This is Dave Loos’ 24th season as Austin Peay head coach and he is 372-333 at APSU–the winningest basketball coach in Ohio Valley Conference history–and 454-386 all-time in his 28th season as a college head coach.

For the first time since the 1996 season Dave Loos will be only the Austin Peay basketball coach. He stepped down as APSU Athletics Director last April.

Austin Peay Dunn Center’s floor project enters final phase

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The final phase of the Dunn Center floor project has begun in earnest on the campus of Austin Peay State University.

After Friday’s graduation and the removal of the protective flooring, workers began cleaning the surface to allow the floor design to begin. The Sports Floors, Inc., workers began a light sanding early Wednesday morning before placing tape for the respective lines and letter stenciling later in the day.

Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center floor receiving makeover

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center floor is getting more than a facelift.

After seeing part of the floor twice replaced in the past decade, a whole new surface will be in place when the 2012 Austin Peay State University volleyball season opens this fall–call it Extreme Makeover APSU style.

After 13 graduations, including 11 from the local high schools, were concluded in late May, the floor project began with the removal of the entire existing floor in Dave Aaron Arena, to be replaced by a state-of-the-art PermaFlex flooring system. «Read the rest of this article»

Memphis Tigers’ threes too much for Austin Peay Governors Basketball

Austin Peay State University GovernorsMemphis, TN – No. 21/22 Memphis connected on 15 three pointers, 11 in the first half, and ran away from Austin Peay State University, 91-60. Saturday night in non-conference basketball action played at the FedEx Forum.

The loss dropped the Governors to 0-9 on the season while Memphis improved to 4-2.

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsMemphis, TN – A year ago, Austin Peay seemed to find its early season stride after it played Memphis.

Even though the Governors lost 70-68 in overtime, the fact they were able to compete with the highly regarded Tigers seemed to bolster their confidence. In fact, after the loss Austin Peay reeled off six straight victories.

Offensive woes continue for Austin Peay Governors Basketball in Lipscomb loss

Austin Peay State University GovernorsNashville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team had its season-opening drought continued with a 67-59 loss at Lipscomb, Monday night.

The Govs committed a season-high 23 turnovers and shot only 39-percent from the floor, including 2-of-17 from behind the arc.  It was sixth time this season for the Govs to shoot under 40 percent.

Govs return from finals to face Top 20 Memphis

 

APSU Men’s Basketball

Austin Peay State University GovernorsMemphis, TN – Austin Peay and Memphis will be seeking more answers when they resume post-finals play, 7:00pm, Thursday, at the FedExForum.

For the Govs, they again will see how the club responds to a line up and rotation change created by the absence of preseason All-OVC forward Anthony Campbell, who suffered torn anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments, December 19th, in practice during a non-contact drill.
