Hopkinsville Community College’s Rotary Scholarship deadline extend to July 15th

 

Hopkinsville Community CollegeHopkinsville, KY – The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville has extended the Rotary Scholars deadline to July 15th, 2020 for incoming Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) students who graduated for a Christian County high school this year.

Almost 350 local high school graduates from the class of 2020 are eligible to receive a tuition-free associate degree from HCC through the Rotary Scholars Program.

Financial Aid Available for Certain Families That Lost Employment Due to Coronavirus

 

Tennessee Department of Human ServicesNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) is making essential financial resources available to families that have been significantly impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency.

Beginning today, Thursday, March 26th, 2020 at 10:00am CT, families can begin applying, online, for up to two months of emergency cash assistance if they were employed as of March 11th, 2020 and they’ve lost employment or at least 50% of their earned income as a result of the pandemic.

Emergency cash assistance applications are being accepted online for qualifying families that lost a job as a result of the pandemic state of emergency.

Hopkinsville Community College to host open house for scholarship that provides Kentuckians with free tuition

 

Hopkinsville Community CollegeHopkinsville, KY – Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) will host a Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship open house on Monday, July 31st from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the College’s Auditorium Building. 

The event is set up to assist students interested in applying for the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship, which will pay tuition for short-term, career-related certificates and diplomas in fields where there are good paying jobs.

U.S. Department of Education Issues New Rules to Rein In Campus Banking Card Abuses

 

Consumers UnionWashington, D.C.New regulations issued by the U.S. Department of Education will help protect students from unfair campus banking card practices that can eat into financial aid funds, according to Consumers Union, the policy and advocacy division of Consumer Reports.  The new rules cover banking cards will go into effect in July 2016.
