Clarksville Department of Electricity - CDE - CDE LightbandClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Department of Electricity reports several scattered outages due to the rain, wind and lightning.

The following areas are without power; Rosehill Drive, Rocky Hill Road, Orchard Drive/Cunningham Lane/Freestone, Dotsonville Road, and Miles Court as well as individual outages.

Montgomery County

Montgomery County, TN -A flood advisory continues for the Montgomery County area as water levels remain high. The Cumberland River, at Clarksville, was at 44.4 feet at 7:00pm Thursday night, May 5th. The Cumberland River continues to be above action stage and will remain there through the weekend. The flood Advisory continues for the Clarksville area through Saturday evening.

The River will continue to fall to near 42.5 feet Saturday morning, May 7th.

Montgomery County, TN – A flood advisory continues for the Montgomery County area as water levels remain high from causing backwaters in low laying areas. The Cumberland River, at Clarksville, crested at 45.71 feet Wednesday morning, May 4th at 4:00am. By Wednesday night, at 9:30pm the Cumberland River was at 45.22 feet.

The River will continue to fall to near 44.5 feet Friday morning, May 6th.

The flood warning continues for the Cumberland and Red Rivers in Tennessee

Clarksville, TN – The Cumberland River at Clarksville is expected to rise above flood stage Wednesday morning, and crest Wednesday evening near 47 feet. At 8:00pm on Tuesday the river water level was at 45.4 feet. The flood stage is 46.0 feet, at which point the left bank of the Cumberland River overflows and flooding begins in Clarksville. The river is expected to fall below flood stage by late Thursday morning.

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County area is predicted to receive an average of 2 inches to 3 inches of rain.

The additional precipitation is not expected to cause more flooding along the Cumberland River in Clarksville, although the county remains under a flash flood watch. The river was at 41 feet this morning and is expected to rise to 45.5 feet by Wednesday.

The Cumberland River and Red River crested Thursday morning. The Cumberland River is currently at 45.3 feet, which is now below the flood level of 46 feet. Water levels are expected to remain at or near flood stage until Saturday, around 11:00am at which time it will start receding. It is expected to be below 40 feet by Sunday at 8:00pm.

Latest Road Closures in the area

 

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – As of this afternoon, there are several roadways that are closed due to high water. Additional roads may become hazardous as water levels rise during the day.

The Cumberland River and Red River will crest sometime today.  Cumberland River flood levels of 53 to 55 feet is where the water reaches Riverside Drive but not flood it. The crest today is expected to be “well below” 50 feet.
