Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team will close out the home portion of its 2013 schedule when it hosts Middle Tennessee in a 7:00pm, Tuesday non-conference tilt at the Dunn Center.
In addition to wrapping up its home slate, Austin Peay (10-18) also will be closing the book on a five-match homestand. The Lady Govs have struggled during the homestand, posting just a 1-3 record, but are 5-3 at home overall this season.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds will host the division-rival Iowa Cubs (Chicago Cubs affiliate) to a four-game series at Greer Stadium from Friday, August 30th, to Monday, September 2nd, for the team’s final homestand of the 2013 season, presented by the Nashville SCENE.
The homestand will be highlighted by two fireworks shows, one Sounds CARE jersey auction, Fan Appreciation Day and a special night in which the Sounds will honor the South Nashville Little Leaguers.
Oklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds came up one run short in Tuesday night’s contest at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, losing 5-4 to the Oklahoma City RedHawks, who claimed the American Southern Division and a postseason berth as a result.
Down 4-1, the Sounds strung together a two-run two-out rally in the sixth inning courtesy of a triple from Nashville second baseman Eugenio Velez, 2-for-4.

Sean Halton’s two-out RBI single to left off Tucson closer Miles Mikolas was the game-winner for the Sounds, who recorded their fourth walkoff win of the year and the second of the current homestand.

Nashville, TN – Hunter Morris and Caleb Gindl each homered to power the Nashville Sounds to a 5-3 victory over the cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds on Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park.
The win gave the Sounds their first winning road series of the season as they took three of four from Memphis. Nashville (21-40) wrapped up its road trip with a 4-4 mark.

Highlighting the week’s worth of promotions will be an Adult T-Shirt Giveaway, Taco Bell Throwback Thursday, Postgame Fireworks, and Fan Appreciation Day!
The Sounds currently lead 5-2 in the season series with the Zephyrs, and will look to increase its lead in Wednesday evening’s 7:05pm homestand opener. Gates open at 5:35pm.
The Sounds will be wearing retro 1980s-style uniforms for the last Taco Bell Throwback Thursday of the year, as fans have the opportunity to enjoy concession stands filled with discounted pricing, such as $2.00 beer, $2.00 soft drinks, $2.00 hot dogs, $2.00 popcorn, and $2.00 nachos. College students also receive a $5.00 General Admission ticket with a college ID. Beer sales will conclude at the end of the 6th inning, while Slugger’s will sell until the end of game.
