Nashville Sounds lose 5-1 to Salt Lake City Bees Tuesday afternoon

 

Nashville SoundsSalt Lake City, UT- The Nashville Sounds (40-40) could not overcome a poor start in a 5-1 loss to the Salt Lake City Bees (32-48) on Tuesday afternoon at Smith’s Ballpark. The defeat dropped Nashville to an 8-16 mark in its last 24 road games.

The Bees tagged Sounds starter Johnnie Lowe (0-3) for four runs in the top of the 1st, providing all the offense they would need to pick up a win. Lowe lasted just 2/3 of an inning, taking the loss after allowing four earned runs on four hits and two walks.

Nashville Sounds hold off late Salt Lake Bees rally for 8-6 win

 

Nashville SoundsSalt Lake City, UT – The Nashville Sounds defeated the Salt Lake Bees, 8-6, on Monday evening at Smith’s Ballpark.

Right-hander Taylor Jungmann (3-4) turned in his best outing in his past four starts, picking up the victory with a quality start for Nashville. He held the Bees to two runs on four hits over six frames of work.

Catcher Matt Pagnozzi homered and drove in three runs while Pete Orr went 3-for-4 and Caleb Gindl also plated three to lead the Sounds’ offensive effort.

Nashville Sounds get swept by Albuquerque Isotopes with 9-2 loss Wednesday night

 

Nashville SoundsAlbuquerque, NM – The Albuquerque Isotopes wrapped up a three-game sweep of the Nashville Sounds with a 9-2 victory on Wednesday evening at Isotopes Park.

Nashville (32-62), which committed a season-high four errors in the contest, suffered its sixth consecutive loss to conclude a 1-6 road trip.

Albuquerque grabbed a 2-0 lead against Zach Kroenke in the first inning.

Nashville Sounds lose 6-5 to Albuquerque Isotopes in Rain-Shortened Game

 

Nashville SoundsAlbuquerque, NM – The Nashville Sounds suffered a rain-shortened one-run loss to Albuquerque on Monday evening, falling 6-5 in five innings at Isotopes Park in the opener of a three-game series.

The defeat, Nashville’s fourth in a row, was the Sounds’ league-leading 18th one-run loss of the year.

The Sounds swatted a trio of home runs in the top of the third inning against Jonathan Sanchez to take an early 4-0 lead.

Nashville Sounds go scoreless in 5-0 loss to Iowa Cubs

 

Nashville SoundsDes Moines, Iowa – The Nashville Sounds held the Iowa Cubs to five hits Friday night at Principal Park, but free bases via seven walks, three passed balls, two hit by pitches, and one error committed by Nashville gave Iowa the 5-0 victory and the weather-abbreviated two-game series sweep.

The I-Cubs scored two runs in the first inning, as Nashville starting pitcher Johnny Hellweg (1-2) struggled to find control.
