Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – While there isn’t officially a play-in game to the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Championship, Austin Peay and Southeast Missouri will square off at 5:15pm, Saturday in a game that will emulate a play-in affair in every way possible.

The Lady Govs and Redhawks enter the regular-season finale tied for the final spot in the eight-team field with the winner of Saturday’s contest earning that spot while the losing squad will see its season come to an end.

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsMartin, TN – Senior guard Whitney Hanley scored 20 points for the 16th time this season but it was not enough as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team dropped an 86-62 decision to newly crowned Ohio Valley Conference champion UT Martin, Thursday night, at the Elam Center.

Lady Govs losing streak hits four with loss at UT Martin

 

APSU Women’s Basketball 

Austin Peay State University GovernorsMartin, TN – Austin Peay women’s basketball team continued its post-Christmas break swoon, falling 78-54 to UT Martin in Ohio Valley Conference action, Thursday night, at the Elam Center. 

UT Martin (8-7, 3-1 OVC) – playing without freshman Heather Butler, the OVC’s leading scorer, who missed the game due to illness – dominated the second half, outscoring Austin Peay (4-13, 3-2) by a 45-26 margin. However, it was a pair of 11-point Skyhawk runs that did in the Lady Govs.

Second-place Lady Govs return to OVC play with Thursday tilt at UT Martin

 

APSU Women’s Basketball

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay women’s basketball team returns to Ohio Valley Conference play with a 7:00pm, Thursday contest against UT Martin at the Elam Center.

The Lady Govs return to the league fray in a tie for second place with a 3-1 record. Austin Peay picked up victories at Southeast Missouri and at home against both Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State with its lone loss coming at Eastern Illinois. APSU is one-half game behind league-leading Tennessee Tech, which stands 3-0 after the league’s December slate.
