Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Local and state government officials met in Nashville today to put a plan into action for a new and larger Driver Service Center in Clarksville-Montgomery County.

State Representative Curtis Johnson and Jason Hodges have led the effort to bring a bigger and better center to Clarksville. The project is fully supported by state Senator Bill Powers, Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett and Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts.

Clarksville Transit System’s Paul Nelson named Director

 

Clarksville Transit SystemClarksville, TN – Clarksville Transit System (CTS) senior manager Paul Nelson, who has served as Interim Director since July, has been selected as CTS Director, Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts announced.

“Paul has been involved in many aspects of our CTS operation for several years, and he stepped up and did a fine job as Interim Director,” Mayor Pitts said.

Mark Riggins named General Manager of Clarksville Gas and Water Department

 

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Mark Riggins, a 23-year veteran of the City workforce, has been named General Manager of the Clarksville Gas and Water Department after serving as acting GM for the past four months.

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts notified the City Council of his decision and announced Riggins’ appointment during a Monday morning, August 5th, 2019 meeting with Gas & Water employees.

In April, Mike Baker, Building and Codes Director since 2012, announced he will retire from the post June 30th after 20 years with the department.

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts has announced transportation manager of the Clarksville Transit System Paul Nelson to become Interim Director of the system effective July 1st, 2019.

In March, Arthur Bing Sr., CTS Director since 2014, announced he will retire from the post June 30th after 22 years with the City.
