Garrett Rye Recognized for helping Stewart County Sheriff with Arrest

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Former Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Garrett Rye was recognized for his heroic actions when he assisted Stewart County Sheriff Frankie Gray with an arrest.   

Sheriff Gray initiated a traffic stop in February when the driver became aggressive. He refused to comply with instructions given by Gray and become violent. Garrett assisted the Sheriff in getting the suspect handcuffed.

“If it wasn’t for Garrett I know this traffic stop would have ended with either myself or the suspect getting hurt,” said Sheriff Gray. “I’m grateful he was there and brave enough to act.”

Explorers Post 600 graduate from Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Academy

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announces the graduation of the Explorers Post 600 from the Explorer Academy.

The week long, 40-hour course, is modeled after coursework taught by the Tennessee Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission.

Students received instruction on traffic stops; building searches and room clearing; police equipment and weapons handling; formations drill and ceremony; patrol response to burglary, domestic violence, alarms and suspicious activity; active shooter training; constitutional law; arrest procedures and evidence collection; and Tennessee criminal law.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) would like to congratulate Law Enforcement Explorers Post 600 on their recent achievements.

The Explorers earned two awards during their Annual Winterfest Conference and Competition. They placed third in Active Shooter Response and third in Bomb Threat Response.

They also recently held a promotion and graduation ceremony for five members of the program.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SRO Jeff Campagna earns National School Resource Officer Practitioner Certification

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate SRO Jeff Campagna on earning his National School Resource Officer Practitioner Certification.

To obtain the status of National SRO Practitioner, deputies must work as an SRO for a minimum of three years, complete a 40-hour Basic School Resource Officer training course, a 24-hour Advanced or Supervisor training course, and an additional 160 hours of specialized law enforcement in-service training.
