Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds closed out their nine-game homestand on the short end of a 3-2 loss to the Omaha Storm Chasers on Thursday evening at Greer Stadium.

Nashville (26-22) finished its homestand with a 5-4 record and won its 16-game season series against Omaha, 9-7. Five of the Sounds’ last seven defeats have been one-run losses.

Nashville Sounds down Omaha Storm Chasers 5-4 on game ending walk-off home run

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN –  Kevin Mattison belted a one-out solo homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to power the Nashville Sounds to a walkoff 5-4 victory over the Omaha Storm Chasers on Monday evening at Greer Stadium in the opener of a four-game series.

Mattison’s game-ending blast, his third big fly of the year, came against Ramon Troncoso and gave the first-place Sounds (24-20) their second last at-bat win of the year.

Nashville’s Aaron Laffey Nets First Win As A Sound

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – The Nashville Sounds edged the Omaha Storm Chasers by a 4-2 margin Monday night at Werner Park to avoid the four-game series sweep.

Tied 2-2 in the 5th, Sounds first baseman Hunter Morris, 2-for-5, gave Nashville its second lead with an RBI-triple into left-field.

The hit landed in shallow outfield and was kicked into foul territory by the sliding outfielder to advance Morris three bags and score Eugenio Velez, who reached base on a ground rule double.

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – The Nashville Sounds suffered their third straight loss to division-leading Omaha, falling 4-1 to the Storm Chasers on Sunday afternoon at Werner Park.

Nashville (38-71), which has dropped five of its last six after opening with four wins in their first five contests out of the All-Star break, is just 4-11 against Omaha this season.

Nashville Records Fourth Win In Last Five Games

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds continued their recent winning ways on Wednesday evening at Greer Stadium, hanging a 5-4 defeat on the division-rival Omaha Storm Chasers.

Nashville (23-41) recorded its fourth win in the past five contests and its sixth victory in the last nine.

Jimmy Nelson made his second Triple-A start for the Sounds and battled with control issues, walking six batters and striking out five in 3 2/3 innings while throwing only 40 of his 84 pitches for strikes. He allowed three runs on five hits and took a no-decision.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds toppled the visiting Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-2, Tuesday night at Greer Stadium, highlighted by a three-run homer from Blake Lalli and a quality start from starting pitcher Johnny Hellweg (6-4).

After Omaha starter Yordano Ventura (0-1) retired the first three Nashville batters using fastballs touching 100 mph, the Sounds adjusted to the hurler’s speed and hammered out four consecutive hits to lead-off the second inning.
