APSU Track and Field kicks off 2019 at Ed Temple Classic

APSU Women's Track and FieldClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) track and field looks to get back in the swing of things after a month away from competition when the Govs compete at the 2019 Ed Temple Classic, Sunday, at the Gentry Center in Nashville. Hosted by Tennessee State, the meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00am.

In addition to the Governors and host Tigers, student-athletes from Alabama A&M, Middle Tennessee, Cumberland, Fisk, Kentucky State and Voorhees are scheduled to compete.

APSU Women's Track and FieldClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University track and field will host its annual home meet, the APSU Invitational, this weekend at Fortera Stadium. The two-day event begins 5:00pm, Friday, and continues 10:00am, Saturday.

Richards wins, Lady Govs sweep Thorobred Classic

 

APSU Sports Information: APSU Cross Country

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsFrankfort, KY – Sophomore Xiamar Richards took home her season’s second victory and Austin Peay State University women’s cross country team swept the top five spots for its first victory, Friday, at the Thorobreds Stampede hosted by Kentucky State.

Prior to the race head coach Doug Molnar set a goal of winning the event and the Lady Govs came through big. Not only did they win the event, they had all eight runners finish 14th or better in the 38-runner event. Austin Peay had an average finishing time of 19:05.03. That time was 2:27 faster than host Kentucky State who took home team second-place.

Governors set to run without Yator at Thorobred Stampede

Austin Peay State University GovernorsFrankfort, KY – Austin Peay State University men’s cross country team again heads north for Kentucky State’s Thorobred Stampede eight-kilometer race, 3:30pm, Friday, at the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives.

The Governors will be without leading runner Boniface Yator due to academic conflicts.

Govs, Lady Govs cross country schedules revealed, Friday

 

APSU Sports: Men’s Cross Country and Women’s Cross Country

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay men’s cross country team travels to five different states as part of their 2011 schedule presented by head coach Doug Molnar, Friday.

The cross country season begins with its annual visit to Nashville’s Percy Warner Park, September 2nd, for the Belmont Opener. Austin Peay hits its second state of the season for the October 10th Fleet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial hosted by Alabama-Huntsville. The squads will then make their first-ever appearance at the Georgia State Invitational, September 17th, before taking a week off.

Austin Peay Governors take on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders

Austin Peay State University GovernorsAustin Peay Governors Football travels to Murfreesboro Tennessee this friday to take on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

Austin Peay has not played Middle Tennessee since November 8th, 1997, when the Govs dropped a 59-10 decision in Murfreesboro. That was APSU’s first year transitioning to non-scholarship football after announcing their intent in December. 1996.

Since 2000, Austin Peay has begun 2-0 just twice, in 2002 under Bill Schmitz during the non-scholarship era and in 2007 during Rick Christophel’s first season as head coach. «Read the rest of this article»
