Austin Peay State University’s Carrie Daniels: Balancing work and family as a college head coach

 

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsClarksville, TN – APSU women’s basketball coach Carrie Daniels is in her eighth season as the Lady Gov’s head coach, becoming the longest tenured women’s basketball coach the school has ever had.

Currently, her Lady Govs are fighting through their conference schedule, with their eye on making the OVC Tournament, where they’ll have a chance to make it to the “big dance.”

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – When Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team hosts Middle Tennessee, the crowd won’t just be there for a basketball game.

The 11:00am, Wednesday tip-off will bely a day-long Education Day initiative at the Dunn Center, with Austin Peay athletics partnered with Clarksville-Montgomery County School System’s STEM Education Coalition, a nation-wide organization aiming to improve the way student’s learn science, mathematics, technology and engineering.

APSU announces three signed to Lady Govs Basketball

 

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team signed three players to national letters of intent during the recent fall early signing period, head coach Carrie Daniels announced Monday. Brianne Alexander, of Smyrna; Falon Baker, of Portland; and Madison Rich, of Bee Spring, KY; will join the Lady Govs for the 2014-15 campaign.

Instant Peay Play: APSU’s Gina Fabbro, Shelby Olszewski making early names for themselves on Lady Govs Soccer team

 

Legends Bank, Clarksville TNClarksville, TN – If you’ve followed the Austin Peay State University soccer team the past three or four years you know the names Ariza, Quiceno and Zigelsky among others, but this year two new names have found their way into key roles on a team that is out to its best start in school history … Gina Fabbro and Shelby Olszewski.

A junior, Olszewski joined the soccer team in the spring after playing the past two years as a guard on the Lady Govs basketball team has helped solidify a defense that has only given up six goals in seven matches so far this season, while Fabbro, who is a freshman from British Columbia, is second on the team in scoring with five goals – including three coming as game winners.
