APSU President Alisa White Named Distinguished Alumna Of The Year at Lee University

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Dr. Alisa White, Austin Peay State University president, was named Lee University’s 2017 Distinguished Alumna of the Year during that school’s Homecoming celebration earlier this month.

The award is the highest honor given by the university to alumni and is given to a graduate who is making advancement in his or her career, while also embracing the values that Lee embodies.

Instant Peay Play: New Era starts today for Austin Peay State University as new President officially assumes duties

Austin Peay State University professor Karen Crow to represent Mid-South in National Vocal Competition

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Karen Crow, Austin Peay State University adjunct professor of voice, has been chosen to represent the Mid-South Region in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Award (NATSAA) competition at the association’s upcoming National Conference in Boston this July.

The competition is held biennially in conjunction with the association’s National Conference.

APSU’s Omicron Delta Kappa honor society recognized as one of the top two chapters in the nation

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System receives $785,000 Tennessee Grant to Develop School Leaders

 

Tennessee Invests $4 Million in Race to the Top Funds

Tennessee Department of EducationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Education has pledged nearly $4 million in Race to the Top funds to pay for eight leadership development programs, which will impact future school leaders in more than 20 districts across the state.

The TN LEAD grants were awarded to organizations in partnership with one or more school systems, to either develop or replicate programs aimed at increasing leader effectiveness and improving student outcomes. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency receives Teaming with Wildlife Award for partnerships for Hellbenders Research

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has been honored with the Teaming with Wildlife Award for Partnerships for its collaborative research on hellbenders in Tennessee.

Bill Reeves, TWRA Chief of Biodiversity, received the award in a ceremony in Washington, D.C. at the Rayburn House Office Building. The award is the culmination of extensive work on the current status of the species of giant salamanders that is endemic to eastern North America.

Clarksville High School falls to Memphis Central in Class AAA Boys Basketball Semifinals
