UT Lady VolsStarkville, MS – #RV/RV Tennessee wraps up the regular season Sunday in a rematch against #3/2 Mississppi State at Humphrey Coliseum.

The game tips off at 4:00pm CT and will be broadcast on ESPN2 and online through WatchESPN. Visit WatchESPN.com or download the WatchESPN app to view the game on a computer or mobile device. Pam Ward (PxP) and Gail Goestenkors (Analyst) will describe the action between the Lady Vols and the Bulldogs.

Tennessee Lady Vols win SEC opener against #17/23 Kentucky, 72-65

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN Redshirt junior Diamond DeShields made a huge return to the hardwood in Tennessee’s 72-65 win over No. 17/23 Kentucky on Sunday at Thompson-Boling Arena.

After missing the last two games, DeShields dropped 21 points on 50 percent (8-of-16) shooting to go along with four rebounds, two assists and a block. Fellow redshirt junior Mercedes Russell compiled another strong outing, scoring 22 points, grabbing nine boards and dishing out three assists.

Tennessee (9-4, 1-0 SEC) is now 29-6 in SEC openers and improved to 2-2 on the season against ranked opponents.

#19/22 UT Lady Vols come up short at #12/9 Kentucky Wildcats, 64-63

UT Lady VolsLexington, KY – No. 19/22 Tennessee attempted to rally back from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit with a furious late surge, but the Lady Vols came up short in the closing seconds, falling to No. 12/9 Kentucky, 64-63, on Monday at Memorial Coliseum.

The Lady Vols (12-7, 3-3 SEC) outscored Kentucky (15-3, 4-3 SEC) in the first, second and fourth quarters, but the Wildcats dominated the third, 21-9.

Tennessee stormed back to within one possession in the final three minutes. After trailing 57-47 with 5:36 remaining, UT pulled to within 63-61 with 30 seconds left when Te’a Cooper sliced through the lane for a layup. Andrea Carter stole the inbounds pass and made one of two free throws to pull UT to within one point.

Tipoff is slated for 7:01pm ET/6:01pm CT, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and available online via WatchESPN.

Tennessee enters the contest on the heels of a home victory over Vanderbilt on Thursday night but has dropped two of its last three games.

UT stands 3-2 in league play with victories over No. 20 Missouri, Auburn and Vanderbilt, while it has lost to Florida and Arkansas. UK, meanwhile, beat Alabama, Georgia and Auburn (home), while falling to Auburn (road), #2/2 South Carolina and Ole Miss.
