Austin Peay (10-16, 9-5 OVC) built a 20-point lead, 58-38, just past the second half’s midway point. The Lady Govs outscored the Lady Tigers 24-12 over the opening 10-plus minutes. Lady Govs reach end of long road trip, seek second-straight road win at Tennessee StateAPSU Women’s Basketball
The Lady Govs return to the road after a week layoff following their 71-55 victory at Murray State, last Saturday. That win stopped a season-long four-game losing streak by Austin Peay and was its first victory during the current road trip. Women’s Basketball: Slow start dooms Lady Govs at Tennessee State
Despite a poor shooting performance – it made just 20.7 percent of its first-half field goals – Austin Peay (9-16, 8-6 OVC) was within four points, 20-16, with 6:50 remaining in the period. But the offense went without a point for 6:42 of the remaining time, only a Whitney Hanley basket ending the drought with eight seconds remaining.
