170 APSU Student-Athletes earn Spring Semester Academic Honors

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Over half of Austin Peay State University’s student-athletes received academic recognition following the recently concluded spring semester with the department announcing its student-athletes posted a 2.91 grade-point average.

The department saw 170 student-athletes named to the Athletics Director’s Honor Roll, each earning a minimum 3.0 GPA during the semester. The athletics department saw 84 student-athletes named to Austin Peay’s Dean’s List and 34 of those were recognized on the President’s list, each posting an unblemished 4.0 GPA.

Austin Peay State University has 174 student-athletes named to fall semester honor roll

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s 330 student-athletes posted a 2.838 grade-point average during the recently completed Fall 2014 semester, the athletics department announced Tuesday.

The department named 157 student-athletes to the Fall 2014 Athletics Director’s Honor Roll, representing 47.5 percent of the department’s student-athletes. Included in that tally were 26 student-athletes named to the president’s list – recording a perfect 4.0 GPA during the semester – and 84 student-athletes named to APSU’s dean’s list, earning a 3.5 or better GPA.

Craig Salley, Iosua Siliva, Gavin Willisson, and Tim Phillips are the 2013 APSU Governors Team Captains

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University football team has announced its captains for the 2013 season.

Senior linebacker Craig Salley, senior defensive end Iosua Siliva, senior tackle Gavin Willisson and first-year senior running back Tim Phillips have been elected the team’s four permanent captains by their teammates. The team voted on captains, Friday night.

APSU Governors Football’s Final Preseason Scrimmage an Up and Down Affair

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – There was a little bit of good and a little bit of bad in Austin Peay State University’s football team’s final preseason scrimmage at Governors Stadium August 23rd, as the defense shined early and the offense coming on late.

The scrimmage was the Governors first-team offense versus the second-team defense on one side and the number two offense versus the number one defense.

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsClarksville, TN – The White team returned two turnovers for scores and then held off the Red team, 52-25, Saturday morning in Austin Peay State University’s annual Red-White Spring Football game, held in Governors Stadium.

Austin Peay Football’s Jake Ryan sets school record in Governors 38-23 loss to Jacksonville State Gamecocks

Austin Peay State University GovernorsJacksonville, AL – Despite a record-setting performance by Jake Ryan, Austin Peay State University could not stave off a Jacksonville State comeback as it fell to the Gamecocks, 38-23, Saturday in Ohio Valley Conference play at JSU Stadium.

APSU fell to 1-9 on the season, 0-7 in the OVC while Jacksonville State Improved to 6-4 and ended OVC play at 5-3.
