AAA Commends NHTSA, DOT on Commitment to Protecting First Responders at the Roadside

 

AAAWashington, D.C.AAA commends Senators Duckworth, Durbin, Fischer and Representative Bustos for their request of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to review the effectiveness of Move Over laws.

We are not surprised by the report’s findings that there is a lack of traffic data related to Move Over law violations, low public awareness of laws and a glaring absence of resources available to assist state officials in raising awareness of the laws.

Tennessee Highway Safety OfficeClarksville, TN – On November 13th, 2018 the Clarksville Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will join the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) to launch Operation Incognito (OI) statewide.

The OI campaign was developed this year to evolve Tennessee’s fourth statewide distracted driving enforcement initiative.

Clarksville Police Department releases DUI Checkpoint/Saturation Patrols results from August 10th

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On August 10th, 2018 between the hours of 8:00pm and 4:00am, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office conducted a DUI Checkpoint/saturation patrol.

Law Enforcement Officers were looking for impaired drivers and took enforcement action on any other observed violation.

210 charges (81 of those were warnings) were issued.

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On December 29th, 2017 through December 31st, 2017 between the hours of 8:00pm and 4:00am, the Clarksville Police Department conducted saturation patrols to find and remove impaired drivers from the streets of Clarksville.

There were no vehicle fatalities in the city limits over the New Year weekend.

Clarksville Police release Hands Across the Border DUI Checkpoint and Saturation Patrol stats

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On May 19th, 2017 between the hours of 8:00pm and 4:00am, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Kentucky State Police, Christian County Sheriff’s Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Hopkinsville Police Department, Clarksville Police Department, and several other law enforcement agencies conducted a DUI Checkpoint/saturation patrol on US41-A near the State line.

Troopers, Deputies, and Officers were looking for impaired drivers and took enforcement action on any observed violation. During this time, there were 427 vehicles through the checkpoint.

Clarksville Police Department Saturation Patrol Statistics from September 2nd & 3rd, 2016

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department conducted impaired driving saturation patrols on September 2nd and 3rd, 2016, which was partially funded by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.

Total number of vehicles through the Checkpoint (400 block of Dover Road) from September 2nd, 2016 11:00pm to September 3rd, 2016 1:00am were 327. Saturation patrols took place in the City of Clarksville from 2:00am until 4:00am.

During this time, there were 238 vehicles stopped and 229 individuals charged.

Total number of vehicles through the Checkpoint (Hwy 48/13) from August 19th, 2016 11:00pm to August 20th, 2016 1:00am were 403.

During this time, there were 257 vehicles stopped and 238 individuals charged.

Total number of vehicles through the Checkpoint (US 41-A & State line) from May 20th, 2016 11:00pm to May 21st, 2016 1:00am were 437.

During this time, there were 234 vehicles stopped and 237 individuals charged.
