The Lady Govs will be participating in 11 tournaments in 2011-12—six in the fall and five in the spring. Only the Lady Govs’ spring break tournament schedule is still to be determined. Lady Govs golf heads to Ohio for second fall tourney
The two-day, 54-hole tourney (36 holes, Monday; 18 holes, Tuesday) will be played on the par-72, 6,136-yard Elks Run Golf Course. The extremely competitive tourney will feature a pair of Ohio Valley Conference rivals, Morehead State and Murray State, along with host Cincinnati (2 teams), Akron, Evansville, Florida International, Marshall, Memphis, Ohio, Penn State, Robert Morris, Southern Mississippi, Toledo and University of Texas-Pan American. The 2010 Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year, Harris reached even par on literally an up-and-down day—Harris’ 18 holes fashioned seven birdies but also seven bogeys to go with four pars. The senior led the Lady Govs to their tourney low Tuesday, a 307. But as a team the Lady Govs could not move up. Lady Govs golf to open Fall season at MSU Drake Creek InvitationalAPSU Women’s Golf
The Murray State-hosted event will see eight teams play 54 hole over Monday and Tuesday on the 6,178-yard, par-72 event. In addition to the Lady Govs and the Lady Racers, Ohio Valley Conference foes Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State and Tennessee Tech will be there along with Belmont, Western Kentucky and Lipscomb. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.
