Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUMuncie, IN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team saw its shooting struggles continue in a road-trip ending 72-44 loss at Ball State, Saturday, at Worthen Arena.

Austin Peay (2-4) got off to a good start as senior guard Tiasha Gray hit a pair of three pointers in the opening 2:05 to give it a 6-0 lead.

Camp Phoenix, Afghanistan – Guardsmen with the 1438th Transportation Company train their sister unit, the 1638th Transportation Company with the Indiana National Guard in preparation so they can take control of the mission of sustainment operations in the Kabul Base Cluster of Afghanistan.

The two units work together, one with nine months of real world operational experience in Kabul under their belts and the other eager to take on the momentous sustainment mission.

Forward Operating Base Phoenix, Afghanistan – Task Force Lifeliner, Task Force Rottweiler, 1438th Transportation Company and other units work cohesively as one to render sustainment and retrograde support successfully within the Kabul Base Cluster, all in support of the 1st Theater Sustainment Command.

Soldiers with Task Force Rottweiler are considered the lifeline of the Kabul Base Cluster because of a rather special operation they manage called a forward logistics element.

Clarksville’s Russ Shemberger qualifies for Triathlon World Championships

 

Restore Preformance MassageClarksville, TN – Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist at Restore Performance Massage on Madison Street in Clarksville, qualified for the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon World Championships, to be held September 9th in Las Vegas, NV.

A veteran multisport athlete, Shemberger earned the qualifying spot after racing in Ironman 70.3 Muncie on July 7th in Muncie, IN, earning a top 25 finish in his age group (45-49 male) out of 160 competitors.

Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist with Restore Performance Massage, competed in Ironman 70.3 Muncie on July 7th. His ranking qualified him for the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon World Championships, to be held September 9th in Las Vegas.

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – After a week off for finals, Austin Peay returns to the court to wrap up its four-game road trip with a 2:00pm, Sunday contest at Belmont. Both teams enter the contest seeking to end losing streaks. Austin Peay brings an eight-game skid into the affair while Belmont has dropped its last three contests.

It will be just the second meeting between the two schools during the Carrie Daniels era, Austin Peay winning a 49-48 contest in Clarksville during the 2008-09 season. Sunday’s affair also will be a preview of an upcoming conference battle as Belmont joins the OVC next season.
