APSU Football - Austin Peay State UniversityIrving, TX – Senior tight end Trey Salisbury was named as a National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Campbell Trophy semifinalist.

He is one of 156 nominated by their schools, which are limited to one nominee each, candidates for the awards must be a senior or graduate student in their final year of eligibility, have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, have outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor and have demonstrated strong leadership and citizenship.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsDallas, TX – Seven senior Austin Peay State University football players part of The 2014 National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society, comprised of college football players from all divisions who maintain a 3.2 GPA or better.

Defensive lineman Reese Bulmash, linebacker/fullback Josh Carroll, offensive lineman Kyle Harrison, linebacker Jared Sexton, defensive end Iosua Siliva, offensive tackle Ben Stansfield and offensive tackle Gavin Willisson were chosen.

Former APSU Football Coach Boots Donnelly inducted into National Football Foundation Hall of Fame

 

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsAtlanta, GA – James “Boots” Donnelly, the only coach to lead Austin Peay State University football to an Ohio Valley Conference championship was inducted into the 2013 National Football Foundation (NFF) Division College Hall of Fame, Wednesday night.

The enshrinement ceremony was held at Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta. It was the first time the event was held in Atlanta, the new home of the Hall of Fame.

Former APSU Football Coach James “Boots” Donnelly selected to National Football Foundation (NFF) Division College Hall of Fame

 

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsClarksville, TN – The only coach to lead Austin Peay State University football to an Ohio Valley Conference championship has been selected to the 2013 National Football Foundation (NFF) Division College Hall of Fame.

James “Boots” Donnelly, who directed APSU to the 1977 OVC Football Championship during his two-year Governors stint before building Middle Tennessee into a then 1-AA football powerhouse, was one of seven members of the NFF Division College Hall of Fame Class that includes the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision, Divisions II, III and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Austin Peay Governors Football’s Wesley Kitts named as Campbell Trophy semifinalist

Austin Peay State University GovernorsDallas, TX – Wesley Kitts, a senior running back who has had three 100-yard games so far in 2012 for the Austin Peay State University football team, has been selected as a semifinalist for the 2012 William V. Campbell Trophy, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced Thursday.

Newsome is one of 147 semifinalists, with Eastern Kentucky’s Patrick Ford as the only other Ohio Valley Conference representative on the list. In fact, only 35 Football Championship Subdivision student-athletes were recognized.
