The Secret of Being Content (When Life is Skunky)

Kris WolfeClarksville, TN – Work. Work. Work. Study. Complain. Work. Worry. Clean. Write. Crumble. Cry. Work. This has been my existence.

My dogs were skunked last night. Not a little: like warfare of liquid fire raining upon our home. More good news: one of my dogs is nursing nine one-week-old pups. Now I am picturing nine helpless, blind little puppies withering away from the toxicity of rancid stench upon the bosom of their mother.

My thoughts (and the words I spoke aloud to my husband): “I feel like Job.” Life has been so difficult for so long, and the hits just keep coming. «Read the rest of this article»

Keep Your Eye On The Prize

Leap-of-Faith-Ministries1Clarksville, TN – When your eyes are examined, the doctor holds a card in front of you and says, “Keep your eyes here, but tell me when you see my other hand.” Then he brings his hand from behind your head and pretty soon, out of the corner of your eye you see that hand.

That is the capacity God has given our physical eyes, and also our spiritual vision. We can be looking at Christ, and at the same time, out the corner of our eyes, there is something else trying to catch our attention. «Read the rest of this article»

Count It All Joy

Leap of Faith MinistriesClarksville, TN – “Dear brothers, is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy for when the way is rough your patience has a chance to grow. So let it grow and don’t try squirming out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you’ll be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete.” (James 1:2-4)

God has a special plan for our lives. It began long ago when He first created us. He formed us lovingly, carefully, and exactly to His specifications. Every detail just as He wanted it, your looks, your abilities, your place of birth, the family you were born into or lack of it. «Read the rest of this article»

Authority to Submission (Part 3)

Leap of Faith MinistriesClarksville, TN – Do you think it would be easier to be perfect if you weren’t surrounded by difficult people? Think about it though, why are people the way they are?

We often quote a verse that says, “My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NKJV) Did you ever stop to think that God also supplies the people with whom you need to live with? «Read the rest of this article»

What Is Your Strength

Leap of Faith MinistriesClarksville, TN – Good things can be perverted and therefore it comes between us and God, making true praise impossible. It may be different in each person’s life, but it can be identified by asking a few questions. What do you think you have to have in order to be happy and live successfully?

Most Christians answer quickly, “Jesus Christ, of course.” But is Jesus really all you need? You may say “Yes”, but are you acting as if deep down you believe you need Jesus plus something? «Read the rest of this article»

Kris Wolfe: Judgmental Women

Woman PondersClarksville, TN – I’m going to just tell it like it is.  Call it tough love; call it whatever you want.  I need to say this. Women can be mean. Women can be judgmental. Women can be gossipy.

Not all women. Not all of the time.

But if we are ever going to be a real and valuable support system for each other, we need to get a real grip on these issues. Do you know anyone who struggles with this? Moreover, do you struggle? I know I do, so here I am, Kris Wolfe..judgmental woman. «Read the rest of this article»

Let’s dive into Jesus

A Devotional By Brother Shepherd

Diving into waterToday I’m thinking about swimming and how refreshing it is to jump in or dive into the deep water. You are submerged and you become lighter.

A great book in the Bible about diving into Jesus, is the book of Colossians. In the 2nd chapter of Philippians verse 5 it says, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ,” that is kind of like jumping in the deep end of the water. Colossians tells us in the 2nd chapter verse 10, “And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” We are submerged in Christ and we are complete in Christ. «Read the rest of this article»

Dive in and submerge yourself

A Devotional By Brother Shep

Today I’m thinking about swimming and how refreshing it is to jump in or dive into the deep water. You are submerged and you become lighter. A great book in the Bible about diving into Jesus, is the book of Colossians. Colossians tells us in the 2nd chapter verse 10, “And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” We are submerged in Christ and we are complete in Christ. Colossians 3:1-3 is what I mean when I say that we ought to be submerged in Christ. «Read the rest of this article»
