Nashville, TN – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has resulted in the indictment of the former Cross Plains Police Chief.
In June, at the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents began investigating James K. Yates on allegations of misuse of governmental records. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that between July 2016 and November 2017, while serving as chief of the Cross Plains Police Department, Yates used the Criminal Justice Portal System to make inquiries unrelated to his official duties.

Nashville, TN – Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an indictment for a former Robertson County youth pastor accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.
In September 2017, at the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents began investigating allegations of sexual misconduct involving James Clinton Jones (DOB 3/12/80).
Nashville, TN – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Robertson County School Resource Officer on charges of sexual battery by an authority figure.
At the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents began investigating Charles Logan Abernathy on November 30th. Abernathy serves as a School Resource Officer at East Robertson High School.
Clarksville, TN – Early this morning, March 18th, 2016 at 12:24am, Clarksville Police Officers responded to a Shots Fired call at the 200 block of Timber Court. No one was injured, but a vehicle was damaged by the gunshots.
The owner of the damaged vehicle said she heard five to six shots. She stated that she saw Tionna Thomas driving a burgundy Trailblazer with other occupants quickly flee the area.
Nashville, TN – A Robertson County woman is charged in nearby Rutherford County with her second charge related to doctor shopping. That’s where a person goes to multiple doctors in a short time period to obtain the same or similar controlled substances, using TennCare as payment.
The Office of Inspector General (OIG), with the assistance of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, today announced the arrest of Dana D. Barnett, 38, of Cedar Hill.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has obtained indictments for a hair salon manager accused of fraudulently using a customer’s credit card information.
At the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents began investigating Lori Amber Carter on July 29th.
During the course of the investigation, TBI Agents, along with investigators from the Ridgetop Police Department, developed information that in February, Carter, a manager of Royal Tease Salon in Greenbrier, TN obtained the credit card information of a patron.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested the Mayor of Greenbrier this afternoon at Greenbrier City Hall after he was indicted last Friday by the Robertson County grand jury.

TBI arrests Two for Forging Documentation for Verification to Comply with Environmental Regulations in Robertson County
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today arrested two former employees of a division of Hollingsworth Oil Company in Robertston County for forgery after they were indicted by the Robertston County grand jury last week.
Scott Hawkersmith, 58, of Goodlettsville, TN was arrested at his place of employment, Petro Pro, in White House, TN this morning. He was indicted on 23 counts of forgery and one count of criminal conspiracy to commit forgery.
Nashville, TN – On Thursday, August 8th, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Robertson County man for possessing child pornography on his computer.
Carlos Cruz Garcia, 39, of Greenbrier, was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. Between March and July of 2013, an online undercover operation was conducted which identified Garcia’s computer as having files containing prepubescent children engaged in sexual activities with adults.
