Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation Awards Nearly $20,000 In Great Idea Grants to Local Educators

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Education FoundationClarksville, TN – For the past seven years, the Education Foundation has offered Clarksville-Montgomery County School (CMCSS) educators the opportunity to compete for funds that benefit their classrooms and special projects in a non-traditional way.

Education Foundation president Brian Taylor notes that the increase in funds awarded is possible because of contributions made by individual community members to recent Foundation fundraisers including the Vision to Reality Banquet and the Annual Campaign.

Austin Peay State University Governors and Chamber Community Golf Classic set for Friday

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Governors and Chamber Community Golf Classic and Partner Celebration Dinner is Friday and pairings have been announced for the one-day, three-course tournament.

The event, which has seen APSU Athletics and the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce combined their two tournaments, will be played Friday at the Clarksville Country Club, Swan Lake Golf Course and The Links at Novadell in Hopkinsville, KY.

The shotgun start for the four-player, best-ball scramble is 10:30am at the three courses.

Premier Medical and Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation present check to Northwest High School

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System - CMCSSMontgomery County, TN – Premier Medical Group and the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation presented a $40,000 check to the Health Sciences Academy at Northwest High School.

Apples for Education Campaign Brings in Supplies for Teachers and Students

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Education FoundationClarksville, TN – Two local banks and their branches participated in the Clarksville Montgomery County Education Foundation’s “Apples for Education,” a school supply drive and donation campaign to stock items for the teachers’ free supply store. The campaign began in late July and ended on Monday.

Legends Bank presented $400.00 and between 400 to 500 school supply items. Cumberland Bank & Trust donated $68.00 and around 100 items. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville’s leaders lays out ambitious plan for the future of our city

 

City of Clarksville plans to launch new web site in a few weeks to offer full details on the new master plan.

Aiming to set the course for our city for the next twenty years, Clarksville Leaders laid out a far reaching master plan for the future of our city. The plan development was coordinated by Frank Lott’s  and Jeff Bibb’s  BLF Marketing  with assistance from RKG Associates, Betsch Associates, and Wilbur Smith Associates along with a Master Plan Committee  chaired by Mark Holleman, Jim Durrett (Mayor Piper’s former chief of staff), and Col. Perry Clark from Fort Campbell.

The City of Clarksville budgeted $230,000 for the development of this plan.
