Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – The first-place Nashville Sounds (60-52) picked up a win and a loss against the Colorado Spring Sky Sox on Thursday night at Security Service Field.

First up was the continuation of Wednesday’s suspended game, in which the Sounds offense never got going as the visitors lost 6-0 to the Sky Sox.

The game, which began on Wednesday as the first part of a doubleheader, picked up in the top of the third inning with the Sky Sox leading 2-0 courtesy of a two-run second inning against rehabbing Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jim Henderson (0-1).

Pagnozzi Homers Twice, Velez Drives In Four For First-Place Nashville

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – Catcher Matt Pagnozzi belted a pair of home runs and Eugenio Velez collected four RBIs to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 9-7 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Friday evening at Security Service Field in the finale of a four-game series.

The Sounds (19-16) — who moved back into first place by a half-game over the Round Rock Express — plated seven unanswered runs at one point en route to the victory, which snapped the club’s four-game losing streak. Nashville’s nine runs marked a season high for the club.

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – The Nashville Sounds allowed six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning en route to a 9-5 defeat at the hands of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Wednesday afternoon at Security Service Field.

Nashville (18-15), which committed a season-high six errors in the game that resulted in seven unearned Sky Sox runs, has dropped three straight contests for the first time since early April.

Nashville Sounds hold off Colorado Springs Sky Sox for 3-2 Victory

 

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – The Nashville Sounds gained a split of a four-game set with a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Sunday evening at Security Service Field.

Right-hander Jimmy Nelson (3-4) picked up the win for the Sounds after allowing one run on five hits and striking out five batters over his five innings of work. He lowered his Triple-A ERA to 3.54 with the effort.

Nashville Sounds drop double-header to Colorado Springs Sky Sox

 

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, Colorado – The Nashville Sounds never held a lead in either game of the team’s doubleheader against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Security Service Field Saturday evening, losing the opener 6-2 and the nightcap by a 4-2 margin.

In game one, the Sky Sox snapped a seven-game skid by hanging a 6-2 loss on the Sounds.

Colorado Springs right-hander Chris Volstad (6-4) worked a seven-inning complete game to earn his first victory since June. The veteran authored a quality start, holding the Sounds to two runs on seven hits in his seven frames, and helped his own cause with a go-ahead RBI single in the contest.

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – The Nashville Sounds broke away with a five-spot in the ninth inning to defeat the Colorado Sky Sox by a 6-1 margin Thursday night in the series opener at Security Service Field. The victory is Nashville’s ninth in their last 10 games.

The Sounds loaded the bases in the ninth before recording a hit in the inning, as Sean Halton walked, Hunter Morris reached on an error, and Blake Lalli on a sacrifice bunt fielder’s choice. Stephen Parker followed with a dribbler to first base which was misfielded by Ben Paulsen to allow the go-ahead run.

Nashville Sounds Win Rain-Shortened Series Opener Against Reno

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds edged the Reno Aces, 6-5, in a six-inning, rain-shortened opener of a four-game series on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium.

At the conclusion of the top of the sixth inning, the game went into a rain delay and was officially halted approximately 45 minutes later at 9:03pm, making it an official game.
