Tennessee Vols fall to Kentucky Wildcats 29-26

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsLexington, KY – Tennessee came out strong against Kentucky as the Volunteers forced four fumbles in the game and rushed for a season-high 155 yards in the first half on Saturday, but the Wildcats held on for a 29-26 final at Kroger Field.

Tennessee (3-5, 0-5 SEC) now holds a 79-25-9 all-time record against Kentucky (6-2, 3-2 SEC), including a 37-15-3 record in Lexington.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Jarrett Guarantano completed 18 of 23 passes for a career-high 242 yards in a contest that turned into a battle between two young running back corps. Tennessee’s duo of freshman Ty Chandler and sophomore Carlin Fils-aime combined for 193 yards and two touchdowns while Kentucky sophomore Benny Snell ran for 180 yards and three touchdowns.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee continues SEC road play this week as the Vols head to Lexington to take on Kentucky at Kroger Field. Saturday’s game will feature at 6:30pm CT kickoff on SEC Network.

Tom Hart (play-by-play) and Jordan Rodgers (analyst) will be in the booth and Cole Cubelic will report from the sidelines. Vol Network radio affiliates will have a live audio broadcast with Bob Kesling, Tim Priest and Brent Hubbs. Sirius Channel 119 and XM Channel 191 will also carry a live audio broadcast.

Tennessee Vols Football pushes past Kentucky Wildcats 49-36

 

Joshua Dobbs accounted for 370 yards and five touchdowns in Tennessee’s shootout victory over Kentucky.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN Tennessee ran for a season-high 376 yards and had a trio of players rush for 94 or more yards in a 49-36 victory over Kentucky on Saturday afternoon in front of a crowd of 101,075 at Neyland Stadium.

Senior quarterback Joshua Dobbs put forth another stellar performance against the Wildcats (5-5, 4-4 SEC), accounting for 370 yards and five total touchdowns (three passing, two rushing) on the afternoon. Dobbs has now totaled 1,242 yards and 16 total touchdowns in his career against Kentucky. He finished with a season-high 147 yards rushing to go along with 223 yards through the air.

Better Choice of Living brought the sound of Motown to Clarksville

 

Better Choice of LivingThe non-profit Better Choice of Living  (BCOL)  held a fund raising concert at Austin Peay State University on Friday September 24th. “Upholding the Legacy of Mowtown” featured Norman Carter and James “J.W.” Witherspoon backed up by the BCOL band.

Fleming was the baritone lead for the popular Delfonics and spun out tunes made popular by the Temptations.  Witherspoon, known as “Dr. Feel Good,” has performed at clubs in Detroit — Motown’s home — as well as with such blues notables as Sam and Dave, Johnny “Guitar” Watson and Bobby Blue Bland.
