Leap Organization holds Annual Dining with the Stars Gala

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – The 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth and business incubation program, Leap Organization hosted its annual Dining with the Stars Gala at the Riverview Inn in downtown Clarksville, Tennessee, on Saturday, March 4th, 2017.

Dining with the Stars is the annual tribute where high school seniors in the Clarksville Montgomery county community are awarded $1000 and $500.00 scholarships based on their essay submission.

Hand Family Companies sustained the gala with their $2500 donation that helped support LEAPs night of student stars shining bright.

Former U.S. Attorney General Judge Alberto Gonzalez was keynote speaker for the event.

Clarksville’s Dining with the Stars announces Former U.S. Attorney General, Judge Alberto Gonzalez as Keynote Speaker

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – Judge Alberto Gonzalez, former U.S. Attorney General, will be the keynote speaker at the 4th annual Dining with the Stars Gala on March 4th, 2017 at 6:00pm at the Riverview Inn.

Presently Judge Gonzales is a member of the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions and he serves on the board of directors for the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Previously he was also an appointee of Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam to the Governor’s Commission for Judicial Appointments and the Governor’s Management Fellows Executive Committee.

Austin Peay State University Governors and Chamber Community Golf Classic set for Friday

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Governors and Chamber Community Golf Classic and Partner Celebration Dinner is Friday and pairings have been announced for the one-day, three-course tournament.

The event, which has seen APSU Athletics and the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce combined their two tournaments, will be played Friday at the Clarksville Country Club, Swan Lake Golf Course and The Links at Novadell in Hopkinsville, KY.

The shotgun start for the four-player, best-ball scramble is 10:30am at the three courses.

Soldiers to return to Fort Campbell

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – More than 55 Soldiers from the 72nd Veterinary Detachment are scheduled to return from Afghanistan, October 16th.

A welcome home ceremony is planned for 9:30pm at the Passenger Processing Center on Fort Campbell. Colonel Stephen Lomax, commander of the 86th Combat Support Hospital, is the scheduled guest speaker.

The 72nd Vet Det deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) in order to provide veterinary service support and consultation in the Afghan theater of operations. Their duties included inspection of subsistence items and provision of veterinary care to military working dogs.

“The Soldiers of the 86th Combat Support Hospital are tremendously proud of all members of this unit for the job they did this last year.  The 72nd Vet Det has proven the positive impact and value of well-trained, highly motivated medical personnel in the areas of animal medicine, food inspection and public health” said Lomax.
