David Crockarell sworn in as new Clarksville Police Chief

 

Clarksville Mayor swears in new chief, bids farewell to Ansley

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – David Crockarell, a 25-year veteran of the Clarksville Police Department, was sworn in as the city’s 17th Chief of Police Tuesday, July 1st, 2020 in a ceremony that included a warm farewell to retiring Chief Al Ansley and a series of promotions within the department.

Austin Peay State University biology student Eva Grebe presents research in Washington, D.C.

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Earlier this spring, a bidding war erupted on the Austin Peay State University campus. Specifically, several different departments were fighting over the honor to pay for biology student Eva Grebe to attend the annual Council on Undergraduate Research’s Posters on the Hill Convention in Washington, D.C.

Only 60 out of 800 applicants nationwide are accepted to attend the convention. Grebe was the only Tennessee college student to be invited.

Four APSU professors honored with annual Booth Socrates Award

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Four Austin Peay State University professors were singled out Monday by their students and peers as exceptional teachers this year, earning them one of the University’s top distinctions for tenure-track faculty members.

Dr. Lynn Sims, assistant professor of languages and literature; Dr. Eric Branscome, assistant professor of music; Dr. Grace Moodt, associate professor of nursing; and Dr. Rebecca Johansen, associate professor of biology, were named this year’s Socrates Award winners, an honor bestowed by APSU annually to teachers who have excelled in motivating and inspiring their students.

Austin Peay State University to host 61st annual Middle Tennessee Science and Engineering Fair

Clarksville Police Department promote Steve Hamilton and Greg Beebe to Sergeant

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Department agents Steve Hamilton and Greg Beebe achieved another milestone in their careers and were promoted to the rank of Sergeant in a ceremony held at Police Headquarters.

Family, friends, coworkers, and public officials were on hand to congratulate them. Sgt Steve Hamilton and Sgt Greg Beebe both worked and studied hard to pass the promotion exam. Sgt Hamilton has been with the Police Department since 1998 and Sgt Beebe was hired in 2002.
