Tennessee Vols head south to face Auburn Tigers, Tuesday

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee takes its modest three-game winning streak on the road Tuesday night, traveling to face Auburn at 8:00pm CT on SEC Network.

The Vols (12-9, 4-4 SEC) made the most of their recent three-game homestand, earning consecutive victories over Mississippi State, then-No. 4 Kentucky and Kansas State. UT will now venture out on the road — where it is 3-3 this season — for two straight games, beginning with Tuesday’s showdown at Auburn (14-7, 3-5 SEC).

UT Vols Basketball roll past Auburn Tigers 97-59 at SEC Tournament

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsNashville, TN – The Tennessee Volunteers rolled to victory over the Auburn Tigers, 97-59, in the first round of the SEC Men’s Tournament Wednesday night at Bridgestone Arena.

UT (14-18, 6-12 SEC) never trailed the Tigers (11-20, 5-13 SEC), leading by as much as 41 points in the final minute of the game. Tennessee now improves to 9-3 all time against Auburn during the SEC Tournament.

Senior Armani Moore led the Vols, scoring a game-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting and adding four rebounds, five assists and a block in 29 minutes of play.

UT Vols take on Auburn Tigers at Thompson-Boling Arena, Tuesday

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – SEC play rolls on for Tennessee when it welcomes Auburn to Thompson-Boling Arena Tuesday for a 7:00pm ET/6:00pm CT tip on the SEC Network.

The Vols (11-12, 4-6 SEC) got 24 points from senior guard Kevin Punter Jr. but fell 85-67 at Arkansas in its most recent action. Punter’s 24 points marked his 17th game of 20-plus points this season and pushed the All-American hopeful’s season-long scoring average to 23.2 points per game. That figure ranks second in the SEC and eighth in the nation.

Auburn (9-13, 3-7) has lost five straight games, including a 65-55 defeat at the hands of Georgia on Saturday in Athens.

UT Vols Basketball travels to Auburn Tigers to begin SEC Season

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – With 2015 now in the rear-view mirror, Tennessee turns its attention to Southeastern Conference play when it travels to Auburn on Saturday. Tipoff against the Tigers is slated for 2:00pm ET (1:00pm CT) on CBS.

The Vols (7-5) closed out its pre-conference schedule on Tuesday as it battled back to defeat a pesky Tennessee State squad, 74-69, at Thompson-Boling Arena. The victory was the second straight come-from-behind effort for Tennessee, which used an 11-3 run over the final 3:26 to erase a three-point TSU lead and seal the win. A similar effort was needed on December 22nd when UT closed out a 76-67 win over ETSU with a 15-2 spurt over the last four minutes.
