Instant Peay Play: Second APSU Men’s Basketball starter to transfer

Clarksville, TN – For the third time in just about as many weeks, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s basketball team has been informed that a player from this past year’s team will be transferring from the program.

Rising junior point guard Antwuan Butler announced on his Twitter account on March 26th that after talking with his family he felt transferring would be in his best interests.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball’s Bailey Shorter reached the 100-hit milestone for her career, Sunday at Cathi Maynard Park-Cheryl Holt Field on the final day of the Governors Classic, as the Govs held off Purdue Fort Wayne, 6-4, before falling to UMass Lowell in their finale, 15-5.

Clarksville, TN – Behind a strong pitching performance from Harley Mullins to go with a five-run fifth inning, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team was able to come away with a split of its two games at Governors Classic, Saturday at Cathi Maynard Park-Cheryl Holt Field, defeating UMass Lowell, 8-3, before falling to Bradley, 7-1.

APSU Softball beats Bradley 3-2 in extra innings

Clarksville, TN – For the second straight game, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team won in an extra inning contest in walk-off fashion, this time versus Bradley at Cathi Maynard Park-Cheryl Holt Field on Friday in the opening day of the Governors Classic, coming away with a 3-2 victory in 10 innings.

Clarksville, TN – If you thought March Madness was just on the basketball court this week, you are mistaken if you are a fan of Austin Peay State University (APSU) athletics, as the next seven days will be full of action both home and away for the Governors.

Now while there is no question the men’s and women’s Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships at the Ford Center in Evansville, IN, will headline this week’s action – and rightfully so – with possible bids to the NCAA tournament on the line, but there will be plenty more action for Govs fans to watch.
