Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Broncos scored 31 points in the second half to give them a 51-28 victory over the Titans at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The Titans led at one point in the first half 21-10, but after that, the Broncos scored 24 unanswered points. Denver scored on each of its last seven possessions, excluding a final set of kneel-downs at the end of the game.

Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning completed 39 of 59 passes for 397 yards and four touchdowns without throwing an interception. He accounted for the second-highest number of attempts and completions against the Titans in the franchise’s history, behind only a 40-of-61 performance by Colt McCoy on October 2nd, 2011.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (6-9) conclude their 2013 season this week, welcoming the AFC South rival Houston Texans (2-13) to LP Field (capacity 69,143). Kickoff is scheduled for noon CST on Sunday, December 29th.

In the first meeting this season, played on September 15th at Reliant Stadium, the Texans edged the Titans in overtime by a final score of 30-24. The Titans lead 14-9 in the overall series, which dates back to 2002.

Tennessee Titans lose first half lead to fall 51-28 to Denver Broncos

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (5-8) went into the 4th quarter down only 6 points to the Denver Broncos (11-2) at Mile High Stadium Sunday afternoon.

But that’s when Peyton Manning went to work taking advantage of a worn down Titans defense to score 17 unanswered points and lead the Broncos to a 51-28 blowout win.

Denver’s Matt Prater hit a 64 yard field goal at the end of the second quarter to set an NFL record.

This is the second time the two clubs have met in Week 1 and the first occasion since 1975, when the then-Oilers began their season with a 7-0 victory over New England, one of 15 shutouts in franchise history.
