APSU BaseballRichmond, KY – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) baseball team grabbed early leads in both halves of its Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader against Eastern Kentucky, Saturday, but could not hold on in either case and fell 9-2 and 11-3 at Earle Combs Stadium.

Hilltop Supermarket kicked off the 2018 Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook-Off, Friday night

 

Hilltop SupermarketClarksville, TN – On Friday night, May 4th, 2018, Hilltop Supermarket held their 1st annual Country Kids Cook-Off. The event is part of the 2018 Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook-Off.

Hundreds of people attended the event despite the overcast skies and chance of rain. The rain held off and it turned into a wonderful night.

“This is just an all around good community event right here at Hilltop and always appreciated what they do to bring the community together,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson.

Austin Peay State University Baseball takes doubleheader from Eastern Kentucky

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – First baseman Parker Phillips hit five home runs on the day, leading Austin Peay State University’s baseball team to a sweep of its Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader against Eastern Kentucky, 18-15 and 11-9, Friday at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Phillips hit three home runs, including a first-inning grand slam, in the series opener as part of a 4-for-5, seven RBI contest.

Austin Peay Governors Football host Tennessee Tech in last game of the season

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University football team hopes to end the season on a high note when it hosts Tennessee Tech in an 11:00am, Saturday contest at Governors Stadium.

The Govs won their last home game – a 56-0 spanking of Culver-Stockton – and look to make it two in a row in Clarksville. Saturday also represents Austin Peay’s last chance to earn an Ohio Valley Conference victory in 2012.

TF Shooter, TF Panther commemorate collaboration

Task Force Six Shooters

Regional Command East - Combined Joint Task Force - 101Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan – U.S. Army Lt. Col. Christopher Downey, Task Force Shooter, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, TF Falcon, commander, along with a few of his pilots, visited U.S. Army Lt. Col. Will Johnson, TF Panther, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, commander, January 29th to present him a gift to commemorate the recent collaboration of their units.

The task forces worked together during Operation Black Panther in western Nangarhar Province December 27th. With constant coordination, TF Shooter performed infills and exfills of ground cavalry troops while also providing reconnaissance and aerial support throughout the operational area.
