Liberty Park to Open on Friday May 18th, 2012

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – On Friday, May 18th, 2012, most of Liberty Park will be open for public use.

“We are thrilled that the day is here when we can allow the public to use most of these incredible facilities. The boat ramps have seen significant use already as has the marina basin. Now, more of the park will be available for fishing, walking, picnicking and all kinds of outdoor fun,” said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan.

Clarksville Marina’s Next Phase is under way

 

The Clarksvillle MarinaClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is announcing two new developments toward the opening of Clarksville’s Marina at Liberty Park.

“The developer, Cumberland River, LLC, began mobilizing the slips this week with the first shipment arriving today. As we’ve previously discussed, they are being assembled off-site and are then brought in for installation. The installation process is now underway. This is an important step as we move ever closer to being able to fully use the marina,” Mayor McMillan said.

City of Clarksville updates – April 2nd, 2012

 

Clarksville City Council - Ward 10Clarksville, TN – Here are some updates on issues being worked by the Clarksville City Council:

Liberty Park: The park boat ramps are open for use.  You should start seeing sections of the new marina floating in the basin within a couple of weeks. The marina should be open the last week of May or first week of June. The Wilma Rudolph pavilion will open later this summer. No word yet on when the rest of the park will open, but it should not be that much longer.

Clarksville Marina and Liberty ParkClarksville, TN – The Phase IV of the Liberty Park development will soon be underway. Phase IV will include the new Wilma Rudolph Pavilion and the Great Lawn amphitheater area that will have terraced grass seating areas for shows and concerts.

The new pavilion will be a year-round facility and could hold 500 people in itself. The grass seating area is expected to hold up to 4000 people. The cost came in at $5.6 million, which was a little bit under the expected bid. This keeps the total price of Liberty Park and Clarksville Marina within the projected $28 million project costs.

Nick Steward, Candidate for Ward 1 on the Clarksville City Council

Nick Steward Candidate for Clarksville City Council for Ward 1 held a meet and greet with the voter of his ward today in Patriot’s Park. About 50 people showed up to enjoy what was billed as a picnic with hotdogs and hamburgers.

He is running to give something back to the community. “I’ve seen a lot of the progress we have had in the community over the last few years, and I have been very thankful for everything that Clarksville has given to my family and I over the last few years and I want to, no, I need to give something back to the community that has given us so much”

Steward is a Realtor with Keller Williams, and will be opening a business of his own in Clarksville in the near future.
