Mo Pressley leads West Creek High School past Springfield in Consolation Game of the District 10-AAA Tournament

 

West Creek High School Coyotes - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – West Creek High School’s Mo Pressley scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the third quarter, February 18th at Rossview High School, to lead the Coyotes past the Springfield Yellowjackets 54-42 to take the consolation game of the District 10-AAA tournament.

Both teams will advance to the Region 5-AAA tournament, February 22nd, with Springfield traveling to Mt. Juliet High School and West Creek heading to Hendersonville play Beech High School.

Daniel Norl leads Kenwood past upset-minded Clarksville High in opening-round of 10-AAA Tournament

 

Kenwood High SchoolClarksville, TN – Senior Daniel Norl scored seven straight points in the third quarter, February 14th in the opening round of the District 10-AAA tournament, to rally top-seeded Kenwood High School past a stubborn Clarksville High squad, 57-44.

Kenwood (22-5), ranked 10th in the state’s Associated Press Poll in Class AAA, led 27-20 at halftime, but saw Clarksville High explode out of intermission by going on a 13-0 run – over the first 2:20 of the second half – to take the lead from the Knights, 33-27.

Northeast High Eagles use defensive in 64-40 blowout win over Springfield Yellowjackets

 

Northeast High School EaglesClarksville, TN – After dropping two District 10-AAA road games last week, Northeast High School went old-school January 20th at home in the Eagles Nest, as they hounded the Springfield High School Yellowjackets for 32 minutes and came away with a 64-40 victory.

Northeast (9-11, 4-4 District 10-AAA) trailed only once, 4-2, that coming in the first 46 seconds of the game, but from then on it was pretty much all Eagles, as their defensive pressure and trapping took Springfield out of any type of offense set that it was planning to run.

Rossview High High School Football rewrites record book in 67-0 win over Springfield High

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Rossview High School’s football team rewrote its record book October 25th, as the Hawks scored a school-record 67 points in defeated District 10-AAA foe Springfield High School, 67-0.

The Hawks, who also broke into the state’s Associated Press top-10 rankings for the first time — coming in at #10 — also set the school single season record for wins with eight, improving to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in District 10-AAA.

Montgomery Central High School Soccer falls in District 11 A/AA finals to Fairview 5-0

 

Montgomery Central High SchoolCharlotte, TN – Fairview High School’s Erika Suhrbier recorded a hat trick, Thursday, October 17th in the finals of the District 11 A/AA soccer tournament held at Creek Wood High School, to upset the tournament’s number one seed Montgomery Central 5-0 and end the Lady Indians 15-game win streak.

Montgomery Central (15-2), who was looking to win its first district tournament title since 2003, hadn’t lost a match since a 4-0 setback to open the season back on August 20th to West Creek High School.

Clarksville High Soccer finishes regular season with 10-0 win over Springfield

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s girls soccer team sent its five seniors out in grand fashion, October 8th at Hilda J. Richardson Field on Senior Night, as the Lady Wildcats exploded for seven goals in a span of 13 minutes in the first half on its way to a 10-0 District 10-AAA victory over Springfield High School.

The 10 goals tied a season high for Clarksville High (14-2-2, 7-0-0 District 10-AAA), with the Lady Wildcats also scoring 10 goals against Northwest High School on September 3rd.

Montgomery Central High School Soccer rallies to defeat Fairview, finishes undefeated in 11-A/AA

 

Montgomery Central High SchoolCunningham, TN – Montgomery Central High School’s girls soccer team finished an undefeated season in District 11-A/AA play, September 26th, but had to do it coming from behind, as the Lady Indians rallied for two goals in the final 44 minutes for a 2-1 victory.

When Fairview’s Morgan Mooney scored in the 14th minutes to put the Yellowjackets (8-6, 6-2 District 11-A/AA) up 1-0, it marked the first time since the opening week of the season that the Lady Indians had found themselves behind on the scoreboard.

Rossview High School Girls win 10-AAA Golf Title in playoff, Clarksville High Boys roll

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Rossview High School girls golf team and Clarksville High School’s boys team took home their respective District 10-AAA tournament titles, September 23rd at Swan Lake Golf Course, with the Lady Hawks outlasting Clarksville High in a playoff – while CHS boys won by 32 shots.

There was little surprise that the Lady Hawks and Lady Wildcats finished in a tie, with team scores of 156, as both squads have been going back-and-fourth against each other in close matches all year long.

Montgomery Central High School Indians Football unable to stop undefeated Fairview Yellowjackets, 50-13

Montgomery Central High SchoolCunningham, TN – Dedicated Montgomery Central Indians football fans had their ponchos and umbrellas out in the pouring rain Friday night, hoping to see their team get their first win against the visiting Fairview Yellowjackets. Instead they witnessed the Yellow jackets (5-0) extend their undefeated streak by defeating the Indians (0-5), 50-13.

The Yellowjackets stung the Indians early and often. They scored 27 points in the first quarter and had 42 points by halftime.

Northeast High School Volleyball rallies to defeat Kenwood High School in District 10-AAA matchup

 

Northeast High School EaglesKenwood High SchoolClarksville, TN – Northeast High School’s volleyball team saw District 10-AAA rival Kenwood High jump out to an early 1-0 lead, in its match September 10th, but rallied to take the next three games to defeat the Lady Knights 23-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-14.

In fact after winning the first game, Northeast saw the Lady Knights race out to an 11-4 lead in Game 2, with Kenwood being on the verge of putting a strangle hold on the match in the Lady Eagles own gym.
