Nashville Sounds fall 7-4 to Omaha Storm Chasers at First Tennessee Park

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds were unable to complete a four-game sweep against the Omaha Storm Chasers Sunday night at First Tennessee Park, losing 7-4. Nashville scored runs in the eighth and ninth inning but were unable to stage a comeback.

Nick Solak led off the bottom of the first inning with the second inning. Scott Heineman scored Solak with his eighth home run of the season. That put Nashville up 2-0 early.

Taylor Featherston scored the first run of the game for Omaha with a solo home run in the top of the third inning. It was his first hit this season for the Storm Chasers. That cut Nashville’s lead 2-1.

Nashville Sounds come from behind to beat Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-3

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds use a seventh inning three run rally to beat the Omaha Storm Chasers 5-3 at First Tennessee Park Friday night. The win for Nashville was their eighth over the last nine games.

Trailing 3-2 into the bottom of the seventh, the first six batters reached safely for the Sounds. After back-to-back singles to start the inning by Christian Lopes and Nick Solak, Zack Granite’s base hit to center field evened the game at 3-3.

Omaha elected to intentionally walk Ronald Guzman to load the bases and it came back to hurt when Ofreidy Gomez walked Andy Ibanez to force in the go-ahead run.

Nashville Sounds score in Ninth for 3-2 win over Sacramento River Cats

 

Nashville SoundsSacramento, CA – The Nashville Sounds get the go ahead run from a Nick Solak solo home run at the top of the ninth to defeat the Sacramento River Cats Monday night at Raley Field.

Solak’s clutch homer was part of a huge night for the Sounds second baseman. The blast came on a 1-1 pitch off Sacramento reliever Dan Winkler. Solak went 3-for-4 with the home run and a double. His single in the fifth inning extended his hitting streak to 13 games.

Nashville played from behind for most of the game after Sacramento’s Zach Green launched a two-run homer to left field off Seth Maness in the bottom of the first inning.

Nashville Sounds crush Sacramento River Cats, 13-3

 

Nashville SoundsSacramento, CA – The Nashville Sounds crushed a season-high six home runs on Saturday night, including two more from Patrick Wisdom, and routed the Sacramento River Cats 13-3 in the opener of a four-game set at Raley Field. The Sounds are 4-0 so far on their seven-game California road trip and haven’t trailed at any point.

The game was tied 1-1 in the third when the Sounds began their home run barrage. Andy Ibanez and Nick Solak each hit a two-run homer off Justin Haley to make it 5-1. Then Wisdom homered for the sixth consecutive game, going back-to-back with Solak for a 6-1 advantage. Zack Granite later added an RBI single in the six-run frame.

Nashville Sounds rally in the night for 8-6 win over Fresno Grizzles

 

Nashville SoundsFresno, CA – On Thursday night, the Nashville Sounds broke lose in the ninth inning breaking the 6-6 tie by pushing two runs across the plate for an 8-6 win over the Fresno Grizzlies at Chukchansi Park.

The Sounds cruised most of the night. They belted four doubles in the first inning against Scott Copeland and led 4-0 right away. Zack Granite, Andy Ibanez and Ronald Guzman had consecutive doubles to start the game, and Christian Lopes smashed a two-run double later in the frame. Then Patrick Wisdom blasted a solo homer in the third to make it 5-0. Wisdom, who also homered twice on Wednesday, has homered in four consecutive games.

Nashville Sounds blast Fresno Grizzlies, 12-2

 

Nashville SoundsFresno, CA – The Nashville Sounds opened their road trip in California road by rocking the Fresno Grizzlies 12-2. Zack Granite recorded four hits in the game and Patrick Wisdom hit two two-run home runs.

Granite’s first-of-four hits came in the first at bat of the game when he hit a leadoff triple. Andy Ibanez hit him in on a sacrifice fly to give Nashville a 1-0 lead in the first.

Two more runs scored in the third inning for the Sounds. Granite hit his second triple of the game and was knocked in again by Ibanez on a single. He would later score on a Nick Solak single to push Nashville’s lead to 3-0.

Nashville Sounds fall 5-4 to Albuquerque Isotopes

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds were able to load the bases in the bottom of the ninth but were unable to push a tying run across the  plate in 5-4 loss to Albuquerque Isotopes Monday night at First Tennessee park.

The first run of the game came in the bottom of the second inning when Eli White hit a home run. The ball bounced off the screen adjacent to the foul pole right above the 310’ sign. That gave Nashville the early 1-0 lead.

The top of the fourth was rough for the Sounds as they allowed five runs to the Isotopes. Albuquerque recorded five consecutive singles in the inning to score three of the runs. Pat Valaika followed with a two-run single for the fourth and fifth run. The Isotopes brought 10 batters to the plate in the inning and was up on the Sounds 5-1.

Nashville Sounds Tim Dillard tosses nine inning gem in 7-3 win over Albuquerque Isotopes

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN –  Nashville Sounds pitcher Tim Dillard threw the first nine-inning complete game by a Sounds pitcher since 2016 to help lead Nashville to a 7-3 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes at First Tennessee Park Friday night.

Dillard threw 70 of his 96 pitches for strikes in the dominant performance. Albuquerque’s Sam Hilliard and Pat Valaika were on base when Roberto Ramos clubbed a one-out, three-run homer to give the Isotopes a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. From there, the night was Dillard’s.

The right-hander faced the minimum 26 batters after the home run by Ramos.

New Orleans Baby Cakes drop Nashville Sounds, 6-1

 

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – The Nashville Sounds fell to the New Orleans Baby Cakes 6-1 Friday night at the Shrine on Airline. The Sounds were able to base 12 runners but only pushed one across the plate.

Sounds starter Esmerling Vasquez tossed three perfect innings before departing in his first start since July 7th, and New Orleans scored at least one run against each of the four relievers the Sounds used. Wei-Chieh Huang took the loss, yielding two runs in the fourth as New Orleans grabbed a lead it never gave back.

Oklahoma City Dodgers out hit Nashville Sounds

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Oklahoma City Dodgers offense pounds Nashville Sounds Wednesday night in 10-6 loss at First Tennessee Park.

One night after scoring 16 runs on 19 hits, Oklahoma City put up 10 runs on 12 hits. They scored two in the first, three in the sixth and notched a five-spot in the seventh.

Edwin Rios started the scoring for the Dodgers with a two-run blast off Nashville starter Wes Benjamin in the first inning. Benjamin settled in and didn’t allow any more runs until the sixth.
