Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUBoiling Springs, NC – Red-shirt freshman Kacy Acree drove in five runs โ€“ including two on a home run in her first college at bat โ€“ to lift the Lady Govs to a 15-12 season-opening victory over Gardner-Webb, Friday afternoon at Brinkley Stadium, before dropping the nightcap, 9-2.

UT Vols roll over Auburn Tigers 71-45

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN The Tennessee Volunteers never trailed to the Auburn Tigers at Thompson-Boling Arena on Tuesday night, cruising to a 71-45 victory.

Junior Robert Hubbs III led the Volunteers’ offense, scoring a career-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting and adding five rebounds in 25 minutes of play.

With the win over the Tigers (9-14, 3-8 SEC), the Vols (12-12, 5-6 SEC) have won three consecutive games at home, with an 11-2 overall record at TBA on the season.

Auburn was led by Bryce Brown, who finished with 18 points, and Cinmeon Bowers, who had 9 points and 15 rebounds.

UT Vols Basketball falls late to Texas A&M Aggies, 92-88

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN The Thompson-Boling Arena magic looked for more than 37 minutes as if it would continue for another game for Tennessee, but a 13-1 run late in the second half led the No. 21 Texas A&M Aggies to a 92-88 win over the Volunteers on Saturday afternoon.

Tennessee led by eight points at halftime and as many as 13 in the second half. The advantage ranged from six to 10 points throughout the second period until the A&M run.

Detrick Mostella, who scored 11 points on the afternoon, had his 3-point attempt that would have given the Vols the lead with under 10 seconds left in the game rim out, sealing the win for A&M.

UT Vols Basketball push past East Tennessee State 76-67

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – An impressive final stretch that saw Tennessee hit six of its final seven field goals propelled the Volunteers to a 76-67 victory over in-state foe East Tennessee State on Tuesday night at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Tennessee started the second half hitting just five of its first 24 shots from the field before the closing stretch, a 15-2 run over the final 3:51 capped by a thunderous dunk from Robert Hubbs III to put an exclamation point on the victory.

Detrick Mostella led the Volunteers with 17 points, tying a career-high. Armani Moore scored 14, Kevin Punter Jr. 13 and Hubbs finished with 11.

Tennessee Volunteers Basketball gets 89-64 win over Gardner-Webb at Thompson-Boling Arena Sunday

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – A season-high 13 3-pointers and a 34-7 run to close the game propelled the Tennessee Volunteers to an 89-64 win over Gardner-Webb on Sunday at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Tennessee had four players in double figures, led by 24 from Kevin Punter Jr. Devon Baulkman tied a career high with 22, while Robert Hubbs III scored 17. Armani Moore had 15 to accompany his career-high 16 rebounds.

Tennessee led by as many as 19 in the first half on the strength of the efficiency from long range, but the Runnin’ Bulldogs battled back and a jumper from Adonis Burbage at the buzzer cut the advantage to just four at the break, 41-37.

The Lady Govs travel to UT Martin for a 7:00pm, Friday contest at Skyhawk Fieldhouse before traveling to Southeast Missouri and a 5:00pm, Saturday matchup at Houck Field House.
