The Steve Gill Show

Nashville, TN – Having spent time with U.S. Marines in the field, from the Pentagon to Fallujah, Iraq to Guantanamo Bay and to U.S. Embassy compounds around the world, Nashville-based nationally syndicated talk show host Steve Gill is finally heading to one of the locations where Marines are made: Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.

Gill is among 40 teachers, counselors and media participating in a four day workshop that will include viewing Marine recruits go through the “Crucible”, the grueling 54 hour long final test before they graduate from bootcamp on Friday morning.

“From before our nation was a nation, the Marines have stood on the frontlines of Freedom and I am thrilled to experience a small portion of what they undergo in the process of becoming part of the greatest fighting force mankind has ever known,” Gill said. “Sharing the sights and sounds of the final days of training that these young recruits experience with our listeners will hopefully give our audience an even greater appreciation for the character, fortitude and pride that is a part of what it is to be a U.S. Marine.”

During the four day visit to Parris Island, Gill will have the opportunity to interact with Drill Instructors, recruits, the Commander of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island and participate in some of the training, including the obstacle course, weapons training and hand to hand combat. “I have a bandolier of Advil and a healthy supply of ultra strength Bengay ready to help me through the experience,” Gill noted.

The Steve Gill Show airs in national syndication through Radio America on over 40 stations across the country. Gill has been recognized regularly as among the most powerful people in Tennessee by Business Tennessee magazine and as one of the nation’s most influential talk hosts by Talkers Magazine. He has been a political analyst for WKRN News 2 (ABC) in Nashville for several years and also makes frequent appearances as a political commentator on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and other media outlets in the U.S. and overseas.
