The Govs enter this match looking to sweep its four-match homestand after earning wins against Abilene Christian, Southern Indiana and Lindsey Wilson. A victory Tuesday would ensure the Govs a winning record heading into conference play, March 16th. Austin Peay’s last winning record through the non-conference schedule came in 2011.

“The guys are doing a good job,” said head coach Ross Brown. “Our doubles play has been really good and our attitude on the court has been getting better each match.”

Senior Sean Bailey returned to action in Sunday’s 5-2 win against Lindsey Wilson College after being sidelined by a sore back. Last year’s OVC Player of the Year was strong in his return, winning his No. 2 singles match and teaming with Jasmin Ademovic for the No. 1 doubles victory.

“Jasmin and Sean have both been battling injuries,” Brown said. “The other guys have had to step up and they’ve been impressive while those two have been hurt. Hopefully those nagging injuries won’t give us too much more trouble.”

Lipscomb is 3-5 on the season, with losses to top-60 schools Georgia Tech, Middle Tennessee and Vanderbilt on the schedule. The Bisons defeated Murray State, February 22nd, in a 7-0 romp and knocked off Abilene Christian 4-3, February 8th.

In last year’s matchup, the Govs pounded Lipscomb, 6-1, in Clarksville. Bailey, Ademovic and sophomores Dimitar Ristovski and Aleksas Tverijonas swept the top four singles matches in that matchup.
