APSU promotes Maria Sorbello Morrison to Associate Head Coach of Tennis programs

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) head tennis coach Ross Brown has announced the promotion of Maria Sorbello Morrison to Associate Head Coach of the Governor men’s and women’s tennis programs.

“Maria [Sorbello Morrison] has basically been with me since we started here, she is extremely loyal and we have both been on a mission to build both of these programs,” said head Coach Ross Brown. “I can tell you to have a person with Maria’s playing ability, coaching ability, and her off court ability is a tremendous asset to the program, the university, and myself, obviously.”

Austin Peay State University Men’s Tennis hosts APSU Hidden Duel this weekend

 

APSU Men's TennisClarksville, TN – After a long offseason, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s tennis will finally kick off its 2019-20 season by hosting the APSU Hidden Duel this weekend at the Governor’s Tennis Center.

The Governors men’s tennis team kicks off their fall schedule, which will see them play in four tournaments throughout October.

APSU Men’s Tennis releases 2019 Schedule

 

APSU Men's TennisClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s tennis schedule has been announced for the 2019-20 season by head coach Ross Brown.

“The fall schedule highlights for our men are the home tournament [The APSU Hidden Duel] and the NCAA ITA Regional tournament which will have use facing the best universities in the region,” said Brown. “The spring season is long, starting in January, going through April and hopefully into May.”

APSU Sports cap impressive 2018-19 campaign with best-ever finish in OVC Commissioner’s Cup

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsBrentwood, TN –  The Austin Peay State University (APSU)s athletics department posted its best-ever finish in the 2018-19 OVC Commissioner’s Cup behind two regular-season championships and another pair of Top 3 finishes in Ohio Valley Conference play

APSU delivered its second-straight 100-point tally in the OVC Commissioner’s Cup, with its 109 points this season an improvement over last season’s 101.5 points. That total pushed the Governors to fourth among the league’s 12 members. Murray State won the 2019 competition with 128 points, its first victory since the inaugural commissioner’s cup was awarded in 2008-09. Jacksonville State finished second (115) followed by Belmont (114) and Austin Peay.
