In addition to host Memphis, Austin Peay will face athletes from a pair of OVC schools in Southeast Missouri and Jacksonville State, as well as Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Arkansas State and Christian Brothers.

With a cacophony of athletes hailing from the Memphis area, this will be a homecoming of sorts for several Austin Peay athletes. Among these will be junior Breigh Jones, who is slated to compete in the 200 and 400m dashes as well as the 4×100 and 4x400m relays, while senior Jessica Gray is a top contender in the 800m.

In fact, two of Austin Peay’s four competitors in the 4x100m (Jones and junior LaMontra Robinson) and three of its 4x400m runners (Jones, Gray and Allysha Scott) in this meet hail from the Bluff City.

Jones (38th in the NCAA East region in the 400m) and Gray (63rd in the 800m) look to improve their standing this weekend in their hometown meet.

Sophomore triple jumper Kaylnn Pitts hopes the month of May is as kind to her as April was. The Woonsocket, RI, native won three adidas®/Ohio Valley Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week honors in April, including the April 29th honor after breaking the school record and earning runner-up honors in the long jump at last weekend’s Drake Relays. Joining Pitts in the triple and long will be fellow sophomores Chancis Jones (triple jump and long jump) and Amia Butler (long jump).

Butler and freshman Sonja White will compete in both the 100m and 400m hurdle events – the only duo pulling double-duty this weekend – and will be joined by senior Natalie Olberding in the 400m. Olberding is just over a second behind Tennessee State’s Kalya Pryor in the 400m hurdle standings.
