Three APSU Teams receive OVC Team Academic Achievement Award

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) has three teams, the most since 2008-09, recognized as the best in the classroom by the Ohio Valley Conference, Wednesday, receiving the league’s Team Academic Achievement Award in their respective sports.  

The Governors men’s golf, women’s golf and men’s tennis squads each earned their respective Team Academic Achievement Award. It is the sixth time the women’s golf and men’s tennis programs nabbed a Team Academic Achievement Award while the men’s golf team earned its second award all time.

Austin Peay State University Athletics to hold Season Ticket Pickup at Strawberry Alley Ale Works

 

APSU Fans can pickup, purchase Season Tickets at Strawberry Alley Ale Works, Wednesday

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – On Wednesday, July 31st, 2019, a Preseason Ticket Holder event will be held by the Austin Peay State University (APSU) athletics department at Strawberry Alley Ale Works’ Pilsner Room from 4:00pm until 6:00pm.

During the event, season ticket holders may pick up their 2019 Governors Football Season Ticket packages. In addition, fans wishing to purchase season tickets for the upcoming season are welcome to visit with Governors Ticket Office ticket staff in attendance to help them pick their seat.

APSU Football’s Kentel Williams, Kyle Anderton named Preseason All-OVC

 

APSU FootballNashville, TN – On Monday, July 22nd, 2019, during OVC Football Media Day, it was announced that Austin Peay State University (APSU) senior running back Kentel Williams and redshirt senior offensive tackle Kyle Anderton were named Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference.

Williams earns his first career Preseason All-OVC selection after being named First-Team All-OVC in 2018 when he led the FCS with a 7.99 yards per carry average.

Instant Peay Play: OVC Football Media Day marks unofficial start of fall season for APSU Sports

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – With the Ohio Valley Conference Football Media Day taking place in Nashville, TN, July 22nd it marks the unofficial start of fall sports for Austin Peay State University (APSU).

Along with the football team, men’s and women’s cross country, soccer and volleyball will be starting their 2019 season’s over the next month, or so, while baseball softball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s golf will be seeing action during their non-traditional season’s during the fall semester.

Instant Peay Play: Pre-season polls predict APSU Govs will face tough football schedule in 2019

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – With the Fourth of July holiday now in the rear-view mirror, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) football team is just over 50 days away from in 2019 season-opening kick-off and if the first released pre-season polls are correct the Governors will be facing a very challenging schedule in its first season under new head coach Mark Hudspeth.

Over the past few weeks, several magazines and websites, including HERO Sports, Athlon Sports and Lindy’s Sports have released their respective preseason polls and if they are correct more than half are either ranked in the Top 25 or listed as teams to watch in 2019.

APSU new Football season ticket inquiries for 2019 now being accepted

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – New season ticket inquiries for the 2019 Austin Peay State University football season are now being accepted by the APSU ticketing office .

Six home contests are on the docket for the first time since 2003, including the home opener against North Carolina Central set for Thursday, August 29th – the first Thursday home game since 2013. The 2019 slate features two home games against 2018 FCS Playoff participants: Jacksonville State and Southeast Missouri.
